Hey guys,
So I'm considering joining WoW Retail (US) for the first time, and I've noticed that I'd have to shell out a huge chunk of money to begin with. So I was wondering what the most affordable way of getting into this game would be, or if I'm missing out anything from my current plans. Do help me out with your opinions, please. 8)
So I'm thinking that I'll get the World of Warcraft BattleChest + Wrath of the Lich King Bundle at about RM120, and start playing through Recruit-a-Friend for the first few months, capping at level 70? This would mean that I'd forgo the level 71-80 bonuses for the exp though, but I'd probably benefit from waiting till November or so for the Black Friday Sale or Christmas offers to get Cata and MoP at a much more discounted price?
I don't anticipate being a hardcore player, maybe casual enough to take a few months breaks in-between, so I won't be paying for each month until November, just a few months here and there?
Is this the best and/or cheapest method out there (not including private servers la)? Or do you think it's possible some better offers will appear sometime soon, like would MoP's release make all the other expansions on offer? I'm mainly thinking of joining a friend on Wyrmrest Accord's realm on the US servers.
* Also, and this is just a maybe, since Refer-a-Friend will offer the referrer a free 30-days period and special mount for a purchase of 60 days gameplay, if someone doesn't mind bearing part of the costs of my purchases, I don't mind signing up under your referral too (of course, we'd have to discuss how this would work, but I'm up for something like this).
* /EDIT:/ Thanks to MasterRamen for the idea: Would it be better/legal if I just buy someone's old WoW account and use the Scroll of Resurrection to get the free upgrade to Cata?
Any advice, gamers? D':
