QUOTE(solstice818 @ Mar 27 2012, 10:39 PM)
I for one , am 50:50 on whether KD should leave or stay. The inner side of me, have two me fighting over each other .

At times, I questioned his judgment. I cant understand the point of dropping Kuyt when he starts scoring like 2 goals in 3 games. I also cant understand the need of starting Henderson in most matches when he was clearly looked off pace and out of form. And someone please explain to me, why Carrol was dropped to bench just when he finally look like regaining his form of old? And maxi cant even make bench after that brilliant understanding and partnership build with Kuyt and Suarez. Again, more and more questions pop out....

If anyone understand this, please kindly explain to me.

Despite all this, some part of me still think that KD deserves to get another season. Not because he is the king or legend of our club, it's because we are definitely moving forward but perhaps in a wrong direction. (Cup > CL? seriously?)

I do agree a lot with question question and question - and i need answers! The sense of deja vu been with lingering for a very long time, like: why are we playing 1 striker at home, and and 2 strikers away?? (Carling Cup).....and why Carroll didnt play when he is afterall a 30mill player...i think the team should be built around this man...if put it simply: @ 30 million is hefty, and at 30 million, this guy must have certain quality, and why arent we building our team around such substantial investment?? really knock the sense out of me....granted he was injured for some time...but he is back and back for some time...perhaps suarez should be designate free role, or play in between the lines - like how Rafa once claimed Voronin to possess such quality, but the way i see things, Suarez knows how to work his way around.. he can create chance for carroll and contribute some goals as well...i think we all know the SG will not be scoring as freely as before,,,as such goals must come from somewhere.... and personally, if there is 1 person or 2 to get the sack - its Steve Clark and Comolli.. they are afterall credited with signings and credited with tactical contribution....if its not working then they are the ones you look for!!! this is not nostalgia whatsoever about KK, but some decisions are obviously dubious....like how can anyone not see downing not effective when move to the right, to accomodate Bellamy on the left...i mean WTF, most of the time i see Bellamy trying to cut in to use his right and downing need to cut in to use his left...not to mention whenever they cut -in, the opposition's full back can already anticipate cross and able to cut them out, which is the reason why we dont see many great crosses being put in for Carroll...in fact most crosses are coming from our fullbacks...what is happening..our play is so predictable, unless we start to involve carroll more, I dont see us going great guns towards the finishing line...

I think any fan with a semblance of knowledge or keen eyes would have notice Stevie G is not the force he use to be...as such I did mentioned early of the season, Henderson was brought as understudy for him...as to why he kept playing in the right..i can only scratch my head....

Surprise that now fans still query where should we play Stevie, in which my opinion is on the right...becos i cant think of a better position for him...his defensive quality is on decline, as he can no longer push up and down up and down all the time...stamina is a factor for players over 32y.o....at least we have a stronger right back to back him up...on the left, i hardly see Downing roaming the left until lately...but lately he is not playing much isnt he...

The scale of rebuilding for liverpool will be massive, make no mistake...Reina is on decline, our centreback is not steady, Agger being out too often this season...our leftback is not reassuring, barring Enrique, I havent seen too much of Robinson...our midfield is no longer the "forte", for the lack of words...our captn need replacing and I dont see any quality in terms of vision, and passing...lets not talk about wingers.....

Strikers...its funny, we have pretty decent strikers during Houllier, Rafa time, but somehow its in short supply from Roy to now KK....the supply of good players and it's cycle is not properly manage...for a big club such as Liverpool, this is unacceptable...i think we should demand more than mediocrity....I saw many clamoring for Neil Mellor...Nemeth...etc etc...but where are these players now?? Stop calling for junior players when we ourself dunno their quality...I am curious about Raheem Sterling but...I am not anxious either for him to make full match...obviously he is not good enough at the moment...Sad to say, Manure and SAF manage their supply line well..ensuring constant supply of quality from junior to scouting for signings.....This i felt we can learn and learn quickly, becos obviously our scouting and academy is not producing at the moment...except for abundance of fullbacks which we are very good at producing - remember Rob Jones anyone...the Owens, Fowler and Gerard came too far and too long in between...

Not looking forward to this season's finale, but hope KK can affect a hell lot of difference next season...or else I'd join in to call for his head...

Building a Liverpool team that is rotten to the core...yes this is the scale facing King Kenny....we have missed CL for the passed 2 seasons, if you included this season will be the third one....make no mistake, the rebuilding or remodelling of liverpool will be a painstaking affair, that i believe, i'd rather have the King to do it than any other person:

1) The team style of play have been over-reliant on 1 or 2 players - since - Owen - Danny Murphy- Gary Mac - Gerard, you can hardly remember having a few players to rely on, and this includes Torres and Gerard. Whereas KK is trying to instill a system of pass and move, is all inclusive..given time, this system should bear fruit, which is why KK been using Spearo...Flanagan....Jonjo ..young lads to build for the future.

2) An attacking Liverpool model - as far as Houllier and Rafa period, we are playing a lot of close ended football...defensive and counter attacking style - as such, pacey strikers really blossom - Owen & Torres....unlike during Roy Evan's time, we control the match..and i can see a semblance of KK trying to rebuilt a squad which closely model after the school of 1990's...yes we may win nothing during that time, but we are closest challenger to Manyure or Blackburn then..with the likes of Redknapp, Fowler, Macca, Collymore and co...I can see the rational why KK is rather protective of 'underperforming' youngsters....in order built a close knitted football team where everyone play to a system...each young lads need to be protected..given time, these lads should develop the understanding and interplay which can open up any defense..just look at Barca..iniesta, Xavi, messi etc...they been playing together since academy....whereas the likes of henderson, spearo..carrol, were bought to supplement the lack of talent from our academy....

3) Obviously, Liverpool is a team that's demoralize..after the episode with the american clowns, yes that's H&G.....we barely lifted the gloom that surround the club for the past 3 seasons, and rehabilitation just started last year, but now fans are baying for blood!!???C'mon...even a car just after overhaul cannot be push..certainly we can expect players or new ones to gel and work perfectly as per say engine parts...understanding or rather telepathic instinct, as some fans may put it, needs time to develop and nurture..i strongly support KK for being protective of the lads, becos the last thing he wants is for the fans to 'harrass' the players...probably senior players may be able to handle it...but the youngsters could be affected...

4) Granted that some of the buys might be questionable - downing, adam, carrol,,,but hey..barring carrol, downing ,adam and even henderson or enrique having join us for 7-8 months..correct me if i am wrong...how much can we expect from tactical and strategy assimilation....or adaptation from these players...bearing in mind - downing used to have a co-wingers @ Aston Villa - ASs Young...Adam use to call the shot in midfield (attacking wise), but here, he support Gerrard and carrol came from a team that plays direct football, and with ample supply of good crosses...which he is not getting enuf at Liverpool....

All in all, this season is definitely heartache...but at least KK soothe it with a League Cup and hopefull heal it with an FA Cup....lower your expectation,,,we are a team in progress..

The sacking or ask-to-leave for Comolli isnt really a surprise considering the FAB four that we signed (Carrol, Downing, Henderson & C. Adam) fail to lift the team...if i put myself into FSG shoe, i will ask why are we below Newcastle when the signings by them are cheaper and represent greater value.. Demba Ba and Cisse..errrr...If i am comolli, I will be lost of words....Being Americans, result speaks louder than words...even in their corporate world, if you dont perform, you'd be ask to leave..simple as that....

An article i read confirm my suspicion: Statistics show Liverpool play better without Gerard...of 11 games Gerard started liverpool score an average 1.00 goal per game, without him it is 1.24 goals.... We have taken 1.67 points per game without him,, but just a miserable 0.73 with him....The most horrendous stats is - Liverpool won 48% of games when Gerard dont play compare to 9% when he started...

If six games where he came off the bench, yes..he turn draws to win notably against Everton and Newcastle...but its only 2 games where he affect the result...but his presence actually affected Charlie Adam's contribution, affected Jordan Henderson contribution - Henderson tackles success rate drop from 92.59% to 63.63% when Gerard plays....Do you know that all of Charlie Adams assist and goals came when Gerard dont play...

All this point to my argument that why do we rely on Gerard to start on everything...from through balls to corners...when obviously the delivery is not good enough....we are relying on an off form star player - to dictate play, initiate attack, control midfield, open up passage of play etc etc...smell like disaster to me...that's the reason i call for SG to be place on the right wing, just to make those crosses in for Carroll...he should be judge on the quality of the crosses...some may say SG dont have the pace anymore to bring to the byline...or cannot beat opposition wingback...but a quality cross doesnt need to be a pacey winger...i think manure utilize beakham the best possible way...put in those blardy crosses...my god...we have Carrol - a much much better header of the ball than Nisteloy....and yet Mr Ruud score more than our 35 million pound striker with just 9 goals to show for this season....Granted SG is not beakham....but still he is the best crosser in the squad...like it or not....

Well, to me football should be a simple game play with logic...but atm...i dont see any logic in our game plan...like why are we playing direct football but play suarez in an attempt to head in the goals...but we are keeping our giant of a striker on the bench...defy logic...truly...

Ahhh...the best feeling is not that we won 2-1, its not because Distin made a mistake and capitalize by Suarez, and its not even how we outplayed Everton, for me at least... its about starting with 2 strikers upfront and seeing both perform well and score 1 apiece.... there are countless of times that I am practically in despair the selection to start with 1 striker and play direct football....leaving a 35 million man on the bench....if bet is we start more Suarez+carroll, we wont be in current position...i wouldnt say kudos to KK nor Stev Clarke...they should've known better..earlier

Really felt relieved for Carroll...i rate him very highly...and its really frust that KK kept saying Carroll have not confidence issue but blardy hell never play him!! The same as Babel which i rate highly but Rafa contrive to hardly ever starting him....

Its really great to see that the team is not relying on Gerard..Gerard and Gerard only...i can see Downing taking corners and Bellers taking freekicks nowadays...heck..i think even Henderson should be given to chance to take freekicks towards goal...afterall he was signed due to his skill and delivery...but somehow freekicks was 'monopolize' by certain players...alll the time....i mean....we certainly should 'promote' more players and encourage them to try freekicks...dribble etc etc...becos right not only Suarez is doing all the dribbles and taking on defenders...i am sure is given to right instruction...Spearo can take on defenders at times.....lets hope we dont fall back to the trap of promoting and relying on untouchable players....I have had enough of so call key man....
