QUOTE(susanlim19889 @ Aug 9 2012, 04:50 AM) P6 What an awesome improvement~ Congrats~ Somehow i believe passing exam is not merely rely on the tips provided by lecturers, there must be plenty of effort behind a pass, although to a certain extent i do agree that guidance/tips given could be very useful especially when you are doing last minute revision, lol... So what do you think if i were to self study to resit the paper and only attending intensive class before exam? If so, which lecturer you would recommend? By the Your name sounds familiar, you are from TARC?1st attempt failed with 37m 2nd attempt passed with 58m here i'm sharing my own study method and experience 1st sitting, LowChinAnn (Bandar Colllege) - full course his teaching skills pretty nice & simplified, easy understand, simple notes, 1-2 Qs only every topics ( one Qs is complete to cover difficult/higher skills part) but his class tend to more focus on calculation (P1-P7 actually more on theory), need copy and writes during every class... his IRC will cover most syllabus + need copy answers.... failed reason : the coverage what he thought is incomplete. i missed alot detail theory parts that i initially feel that not important for exam..i only practice for calculation but not memorize the tax rules & conditions 90% @.@, tax paper not allowed for BLUFF!!! u must know and confirm everything~ 2nd sitting, LowChinAnn (Bdr college) - term2 class+IRC ( read selective since bored to read every single words & studied details b4, read Q&A without practice anymore >.<) + Ms.Kok (Sunwa) - simply go thru on her notes (her notes very tick make ppl feel very difficult for study but complete, covered all areas, questions near to exam) , i audit Q&A and read selective portion of theories that i not sure only...she draw mind map, so more easy to look clearly whole picture, easy to memorize... + Mr.Siva(FTMS) - IRC , his tips very very accurate 70-90% ( i rmb he name the 5 major topics (like 1. RPGT, 2. Controlled Sale etc at end of his IRC class all came out @.@ ) (recommended by net fren, passed at 2nd attempt because of his tips) he is funny guy, but his teaching method very confusing ppl, he expect u find out the knowledge/information by own rather he will teach more detail... he ask each students answer each questions, he will wait u for the answers @.@ ( sometime i answer him, sometime he skip me when i say duno the answers IRC - only short mind-map notes given for your own reading, + about 40 simple practice questions which focus on 5-8 major/important topics that will coming out on exam & discuss during IRC class, answers on calculation can copy from Siva's terrible handwriting, answers on theory need yourself listen clearly and write down by own (with my good knowledge from Low CHin Ann, then only can easy get well with Siva's IRC practice Q & his tips , and Ms Kok notes. otherwise, i think merely attend Siva 's full class may also fail me - own opinion . no passed under Low, but he really help me alot for P6 ) 1 mths b4 exam In 2nd sitting , i used most of time to study Ms Kok Notes & Low's IRC notes at home, only listen Low 's normal class & Siva's IRC on the class without revise at home... Added on August 10, 2012, 2:05 am QUOTE(Xeniouz @ Aug 9 2012, 02:41 AM) i would say it would be almost impossible to study P6 on your own.. u should ask for opinions around here for recommended lecturers from those who passed their P6.. u should never study tax on your own.. tax laws changes over time and u need an experienced lecturer for guidance.. Agree with it, but i notice that there are no particular lecturers in the market are good in teaching p6, it used to be chong kwai fatt, but he no longer lecturing... Any recommended lecturer you would like to suggest? This post has been edited by wwc88: Aug 10 2012, 02:05 AM |

QUOTE(Silverstone2012 @ Aug 25 2012, 09:43 PM) Hi all, +1like from me Just wanna share my experiences throughout the CAT and ACCA studies. From CAT and ACCA F4 to F6,not much problem on passing them,as long as read up the notes and practice pass year papers are more than enough to pass. The problem started when studying the remaining papers,as I started to feel the pressure not only from the heavy syllabus itself, but when you keep failing and where you disappointed your parents, and in some cases, parents blaming that we are not studying well. I think most people will agreed with me that it is a norm to fail in ACCA,even you studied hard but it is possible that you will failed the exam.Only those who had taken ACCA exams will understand what I am talking about....as we sharing the same tortures and pains... There was a point that I really wanted to quit ACCA,when I failed three papers in same sitting. But if I quit,What will I have?Where will I be? Having the thought of that,I continue on studying ACCA... The sad thing was, whenever you scroll through your fb wall, there will be someone who showing off their graduation pics and congratz messages(from other courses),blah blah blah...and you will be thinking, when will it be my time to do all this?why it is not happening on me?ACCA exam is like never ending stories...and some idiots will be saying to you:"Not yet graduate?why so slow one?never study ah??" For those idiots,go sucks your mom's boobs.. I really struggled alot during P lvl,and finally somehow I left two papers before becoming an affiliate...seeing that finally it is gonna end...but that is not the case.I failed my both final papers in Dec 2011...I started to questioning why god love toying with me so much.... Putting that aside,I put alot of effort this round, burning midnite oil and keep asking question whenever I not sure, and finally exam d-day,walking out from exam hall, thinking of myself.... "Please let me get through this shithole,please..." On 8 August 2012,waking up with barely sleeps, turning on my computer and waiting....finally received email from ACCA-"Online result" When I clicked it,the time gap between when the screen turns white to load the email and showing the result really a moment of silence,as if like the time stops.... "Congratuation on passing the exam, you are now officially an ACCA affiliate" At that moment, the suffering, pressure, stress, anger, depression, worries that I have for the past five years are finally gone..GONE! Till now I still can't believe it's over... To sums it up,it is worthwhile to sacrifice your time studying! Whenever others having great time during weekends with their family somewhere,we all staying in college taking classes,no life at all...but the final exam, when u passed,it is priceless! priceless.... Don't let outside factors, such as negative comments or insultation affects you..Your patience and preseverance will ultimately opens the door towards victory... Cheers~~ |
