I don't think so unless you're in a completely non-accounting field eg sales & marketing, insurance broker, teacher etc.

As I said, it all depends on the nature of the positions advertised. For all the non-accounting positions eg sales & marketing, administrator, banking etc, off course the employers need the candidates to have a degree relevant to the positions advertised.

Prof qualifications like ACCA or CIMA are purely meant for those who want to pursue a career in accounting. If someone wants to pursue a career in for example, stock broking or real estate, then what's the point of studying ACCA....it will be a complete waste.

Having said that, because of the 'kiasuness' of the employers in Spore, they will always prefer grad from their local uni in all professions eg engineering, accounting, law etc.
