F4- Ms. Puspha she is a lawyer previously and she is very good in her law. everything at her finger tips. tells story and give real life examples. but law is always boring you can fall asleep in her class.
F6- Ms. Joyce she is a very strict lect if you don't perform in progress test she will screw you up-side-down. this makes you really study for your tax and she will give surprise test. don't perform screw you again. she got lots of charts and makes tax easier if you listens and understands.
F8- Mr Ong he is good lect with lots of experience in auditing. Gives real life examples but he aims for passing students only. 50 marks is all he wants from students. he can teach you how to pass but not score.
F9- Ms. Joyce back to the same lecturer as F6
P1. P7- Mr. Goh very patient lecturer and good in his knowledge. teaches you exam techniques and guide you all the way, he is like a very loving father teaching students with love and care. lots of students like him.
P2- Ms. Menon come for her class no regrets.

Yo, nice clarification there. But i think Mr.Ong no longer teaching F8 already sad.gif left Ms. Kiran & Ms. Letchumy.

Added on June 2, 2012, 6:02 pmAnyone here from KDU's ACCA class ? Mind to share some opinion about the lectures and style ?

Hmm, i enrolled into kiran's class.. i think kinda late for any changes.

Btw, any seniors or current student who enrolled in f7,8,9. May i ask, the BRM classes is it compulsory to take ?
Cuz i'm not planning to take the OBU, so i'm confused when the timetable states BRM class is compulsory shocking.gif

For F5, i'll recommend u to go for Mr.Akbar's class. F6 wise, i think Ms.Rozi would be better.
Provided u r those ppl who wana score well. If u want a relax lecture, Ms. Kok not bad with her grandma stories and cold jokes. But i felt she's abit cincai in her way of teaching thou.

Yeah, i was under Mr.Tan for F5 initially. But he's too nice. So i went to Mr. Akbar's class (he gave lots of hw and practice ques)

For F6 i was in Ms.Kok's class, relax style. I prefer Ms. Rozi which is more strict.

Drink to success - with water!

Exam candidates who bring water into the exam hall can help themsleves with improved grades, says a recent study.
Now it is the older students who are looking after themselves more, but reseachers have been shocked by the number of students who enter the exam hall without a bottle of water.
So why do it? Well, Dr Chris Pawson said it has a massive physiological effect on thinking functions, that lead to improved exam performance.
It also helps to alleviate anxiety.

Drink more water -> Go toilet more often -> Refer small notes in the toilet tongue.gif

Probably this is the REAL secret to success thumbup.gif

If u wana change, to be safe, better go for Ms.Rozi.

Or if u wana see handsome boy during class, go for Mr.Ang x) since they said he was teaching under guidance of Ms.Rozi, shouldn't be bad kua lol.

As the above said, probably I'm a slow learner. Or bcuz the class i'm with came up from CAT so they have a very good base and can digest it fast. Maybe I should try out with Ms. Letchumy to see if they move that fast as well.

Sometimes I just hope that Santha's notes and her way of presenting those statements can be much more organized sad.gif- for eg. Mr.Akbar's class.. those who attended his class before will know how organize is he in using his excel skills to make important notes and illustration.

Despite my comment abt her teaching flow, I do agree that Ms.Santha has the right attitude and professional manner. Her attitude was great and cheerful smile.gif

f4 - I guess you'd be better off self studying this paper..Tried both Pushpa and Lydia, ended up stick with Lydia because she provides her own notes and not just reading textbook like Pushpa..but if I'm not wrong Lydia switched to UK variant.

f5 - I went under akhbar..pretty decent la..serious when it comes to lectures but sometimes can be quite slow/boring
(I went under voon sia for a brief period of time, I found her teaching style don't suite me)

f6 - I would have to say ms rozi..She's strict.. Also tried ms kok for a while but don't like the way she conduct her classes..too much chit chat with her students  sweat.gif

But all in all, I'd say it's based on your own preference la..I'm sure some other students would prefer different lecturers than me.. smile.gif

Thumbs up for Mr.Akbar thumbup.gif totally recommended !

Hi there, im in a serious doubt

i finish diploma in accounting, which allow to me have 5 papers exemption.

i would like to register my self for ACCA to take part in the F6 & F7 exam on this june(without going through to any education school)

in order to take part in the exam, i have to register as a student with ACCA right?

however as i search through google, found some article said that if i wanna to take the exam on June this year, i have to register as a student before Dec last year.

Is it correct ? because if that is the case then i would have miss the chance since today is Feb already.

Hopefully someone can clear my doubt especially those who have registered it smile.gif

For Diploma in Accounting, you should be exempted for first 4 papers only [F1-F4] if i'm not wrong.
U can check your exemption online via the acca website smile.gif

Paper spots are available at PQ Magazine where all the colleges spot their prediction for all ACCA papers, except for Malaysian tax and law papers.
Try this link below
http://edition.pagesuite-professional.co.u...7d-1c8ec6502c97
page 14 and 15 is great since you get the feedback from the examiner from someone who attended the seminar in Nottingham recently.  The archive has the feedback from F8, F7 paper examiner.

On pages 17 to 20 is the tips from all the providers.

My thoughts on the tips are - some are quite reasonable and can be useful.  Some are just covering the whole syllabus.

This is my thoughts

Those preparing for P7 - make sure you are familiar with you accounting standards and principles since this time it would be audit risk / risk of MM which is high chances
Those preparing for P3 - make sure your overhead analysis knowledge is reasonable.
Those going for P1 - well better know about the latest COSO and stop quoting the CC, it is outdated already, it is called UKCGC.  Your examiner likes risk and the most recent risky event was Fukushima incident under TEPCO Japan. Read all the articles to date.
Those that are doing F8 - Cash, remuneration, NCL, OM, EOM, OI looks interesting - but the spotter are right for this paper - study everything a bit.
P2 - Groups cover everything even when everyone says P&L or Cashflow is likely.  IFRS 11/12 and Hedge is popular this time.  Make sure you know the problems of hedge accounting before you go in.  Read the examiner article.
F5 - the examiner likes TOC and probably would be asking something from the new syllabus area (pricing + decision making) I would belief that the above is just some areas that are worthy of studying harder.
P5 - examiner wants you to know your verbs properly - performance models, ZBB and Transfer pricing is really hot this time around.

ACCA has revised the website recently and has added exam techniques for each paper.  P2 ACCA has Ashanti question which is quite good.  F8 has 2 ACCA official youtubes - NOW that NOTE you bought will finally be useful for your studies.  My suggestion is to review them - they are very well done.

Well hope that helps for students preparing for the exams.  Good luck! thumbup.gif

Yeah, I'm not betting my all into the tips. Everything should be covered. P2 this sem is scary shocking.gif Btw, that's very helpful, something I've missed out smile.gif Thanks a lot !

I was with Spencer for 1 session for P5. He focus a lot on theory parts and he also mentioned that theory is his forte. He does make the lectures interesting too and not just monotonous.

Regarding the IRC class..I think it heavily depends on the lecturer. I attended before and my experience there was rather unpleasant but it's due to the lecturers and not the institute in itself.

Thanks for sharing! smile.gif Appreciate it a lot.

Anyone has comment with Joe Fang ?
