Who's your lecturer?
This examiner's way of asking is more complicated than the previous.  But I can still answer Q2 and Q3.
But too bad my time management sucks, if not I'd have passed.  Goodluck to you! Hope you'll pass!
I'll try again this Dec tongue.gif

btw, P6 today is much better although I did sth wrong in Q1 too.  Q2 dunno what's that. lol.. At least am able to attempt all questions smile.gif

Let me start with P6  mad.gif
I've lose 33 marks with writing rubbish on the Q1(i)(2), Q1(ii)Approved R&D and Q2(i) Inventory

The questions come to be easy but once I did not read it, that's it!!!  icon_question.gif

I'm happy with the Settlement, RPGT and PE. (Hope I score there)  cry.gif

Desperate to Pass lo!!!
*
Seriously been brutally f***ed upside down by p6

1st of all...only around 15% for calculation?

Q1 (ii) totally gone and Q2 (i)&(ii)

Q3 is fine

Q4 i just screwed it up completely... Said mr a income not liable for msia tax and fpc has pe in msia

Really brutal P6 today.

Hey tzxsean, ur settlement prediction came out  notworthy.gif  I just took a glimpse, didnt really look into it..hopefully can pick up some marks.

Sad IPC/OHQ/RDC didnt come out.
Dont wanna look back liao...just wait for 2 months + for the result
*
just wished rpgt and settlement were 2 separate questions or part of bigger questions

and why so little calculation compared to last sitting? mad.gif

calculation is not the crucial point to pass (nevertheless important)

writing/theories is the essence

XD.

thx for the " in ur face" moment for me ya

ops...oh well..people who give up in F level will not understand the P level standard

Pfft ...

oh maybe if i fail..i shall choose 2 papers to study and gamble either one for exam again

if unfortunately I failed again...

i shall say ...i never regret gambling on one paper..i just regret on picking the wrong paper whistling.gif

P papers emphasise more on theories and writing.
But nonetheless I screwed up Q2 too, totally no idea what to write.  Q1 (ii) too, sigh..

Q4 Income of Mr. A, does Para 28, Sch 6 apply here? hmm.gif
*
of course P papers consists mainly of theory

but im still abit shocked by the calculation marks allocated there ... might not even more than 10 marks u noe

for q1 n 2 ...

para 28,sch 6 ..totally no remember..nvr take f6 ..i just simply shoot not subject to tax unless he is independent agent work for FPC ...and say he receive instruction n get paid from there...like reverse situation from employees seconded in overseas

btw FPC no PE in msia right? I said got PE..even thou he canot conclude contract but still responsible for major part of the work

Yeah, it's like going for P1, all theories, LOL..

I wrote subject to tax because he exercised employment in Msia, forgot those derivation doh.gif

FPC no PE because although Mr. A is FPC's agent, his duties are mainly auxillary and unable to conclude contracts on behalf of FPC.
*
i not sure subject to tax or not ... but i simply shoot with no substance...probably no marks as well

yea...the PE...vested authority to conclude them and regular exercise the authority ...

i just couldnt remember it ...

i tot it's "or" condition for agency PE

cos i remember the regularly acts on behalf..which he clearly did ...

btw q3....(1) and (2)..like abit overlap ...and abit too much mark for the things that we can write no? wink.gif

pass or fail is still an uncertainty

how bout u? I don't know

anyway I passed only because I'm lucky

you should use the word "fallen" for person who worth it ...like hmmm

who decided to gamble on dropping 1 sub for another biggrin.gif

What's Q3(i) and (ii)?  I forgot blush.gif

(i)why constitutes settlement and what is the significance

and (ii) how rental income should be treated

looks like abit overlapped

digest the post above 1st

and i shall tell you why I noe you're referring to me rclxms.gif

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Jun 15 2012, 11:25 PM)
(i) I wrote what settlement is about, ie. transfer of asset/income.  Normally an individual with a higher tax bracket attempts to transfer his income to another who has a lower tax bracket to avoid tax
This is why anti-avoidance provision of S.65 comes into place to tackle this issue.
A settlement is only caught if:
1. the transfer is of no valuable consideration
2. the transfer is voluntary (not a result of court order)

But I still find the marks allocated to it a bit high

(ii)explains the deeming provision S.65(1) the unmarried, 21 years old, single thingy.
how it applies to the scenario, state on who and how shld the income be taxed wink.gif
*
s65(1)

settlement - if relative unmarried and under 21 y/o at beginning of year

defences - relative not under 21 or married at beginning of year

significance... all income entitled to relative will be deemed settlor's

i answer quite specifically

thou i did mention the high income low income bracket thing at the end ..just a bit short

I stop memorizing liao... revising all those stuffs i've memorized... kind of scared as i just found that i forgot most of things i've memorize
several properties which are let out can be grouped as one source whether under S.4a or S.4d.

lol...u referring to the wrong question dy ... that is the question 5...im talking bout q3

rental income under settlement

nice try rclxms.gif

not sure if need to compute..the marks seems too high for the explanation required

but all they ask is just to explain...overlapped with the significance of the income on part (i)

rpgt part oso ..marks are abit high

I think have to state how much is assessed for each of them under YA 2011 and 2012.
Because the marks allocated are a bit high, nothing more can be written.
Overall Q2 is the one killling
*
oh ... both oso same wad right?

rm60k per annum

but for Mr Grandpa abit tricky ... as I wrote 11 months income will be deemed to his..since he transferred on 1st feb...

not sure if marker will understand wad i mean... the jan rental surely belongs to him ... but the remaining 11 months will be deemed his as the provision applied on that date (1st feb 2011)

I hope you have improved yourself, and you do know what you don't know by now. I've met you on an F9 discussion on OpenTution before and you came across as an arrogant guy who actually knows nothing about the subject on debate. You claimed I have 'no clue about what the subject is about'. When the model answer came out I thought of making innuendos at you but decided there's no point.

hah? what's your username...

so funny that I only have problems with newer active members here?

The subject is on working capital policy, and whether or not you need to further discount a present value after finding the perpetuity of the future cash flow, if that PV was on a future year. For example if the perpetuity occurs after Year n, you will need to further discount the PV by (1+discount rate)^n

No need to thank me, just make sure you actually KNOW what you're talking about the next time you act like a know-it-all. And yes, it is an ACT because you DO NOT KNOW what you're talking sometimes.
*
so i guess what u means is

either this

QUOTE
doubt u don’t really understand about working capital policy. and the answer he wrote is more to working capital management

or

QUOTE
the one you did is Present value ..not Net Cash flow before tax :S

or

any other else I missed?

I dont see any part where I claimed I know it all ...

would you pls enlighten me?
