Hey,guys..i have a question regarding F5..Do you guys think by doing past year question is enough after studying the whole syllabus?
*
It should be sufficient for most parts of the syllabus. However there were a significant number of new topics added effective June 2011 sitting and most of them have not been questioned yet. CVP analysis and environmental mgnt acct to name a few. So if you're just practicing questions from the past years, then you would not have any practice on these topics.

Added on June 3, 2012, 2:24 amThe others are decision tree, single resource limiting factors, perfect information and relevant costing. Relevant costing questioned in last sitting.

lol.. i think i really have to kill my lecturer!!!!
For CVP & Environmental Accounting, there are technical articles written by the current examiner.
I really hate the style she set the questions, more towards theoretical rather than applying =.=

Ha ha. . Env mgnt is completely theoretical. However I don't expect an entire question being set on it, probably just a few marks. CVP on the other hand has significant calculation an graph work, so If it does come out, only a very few marks may be allocated to theory- cvp limitations would be my best guess.

You're right about the tech articles. There's one on almost every topic. They're really helpful and pretty easy to grasp.

Hi, I need some help here..

For consolidated statement of retained earning, we should use profit attb to parent or total comprehensive income <tci> attb to parent?

I saw number of past year answer opting profit attb to parent rather than tci attb to parent? But, why?

Thanks in advance...

P7 Advanced Audit & Assurance (Int)
Sharing some tips to handle this paper:

1. The examiner Ms Lisa has emphasized the practicality of the paper in the context of actual practice in audit firm. Hence, students must take the audit manager / partner perspectives when analysing P7 questions.

2.It is good to re-look and be familiar with all the ISA, IAS and IFRS. Get a copy of standards and look at the requirement of each standards.

3. Apply the accounting standards that you have learnt in P2. Commonly, you need to apply, how to recognise, how to measure and how to disclose.

4. Be familiar with the audit work ie.the phases of audit from planning until finalization.

5. Common questions in P7 are:
-Matters to consider.
-Ethical and professional consideration
-Principal audit risk
-Principal audit procedures
-Business risk and Financial Statement Risk.
-Overall audit strategy
-Nature, timing and extent of audit procedures.
-Audit opinion and report.

6. Common application of IAS are: 2,12, 16, 18, 24, 37 & 38.
7. Common application of ISA are: 220, 315, 330, 420, 520, 560, 570, 580, 600,700.
8. New IFRS to be tested in near future are: IFRS10, 11, 12, 13.

ALL the best next Monday June 11.
