If you can work hard and good in English and maths - do cat and then acca . It is much faster and cheaper. Even if you fail a few times, you can still save yourself some cash. Ask your father to put the difference into buying Coke Cola or Public Bank shares.

When you graduate later it will be enough to probably buy you a new car.

If you want to take life easy and give the colleges the cash - use the route you recommended.

You can opt for a degree while doing ACCA. Its from Oxford Brookes Uni.

But it seems you already decided to go the degree route first.

yeah and I did an unforgivable mistake.. wrongly inflate cash flow for Q1 nominal NPV, expecting 6 marks gone doh.gif
(I know theoretically real and nominal NPV should be the same but no time to do correction cry.gif )

Tom Clendon for P2 no doubt. You can't miss his classes for sure! He is kinda famous so you can search this name on google since he is on twitter, youtube and has been teaching for a number of years in Kaplan Financial UK. He writes books and he has a number of articles for P2 published as well on accaglobal website. I can write the entire thesis here about his bio tongue.gif haha I leave the rest onto you to further do research on him. wink.gif

Even by taking classes for 1 year no one told about this laugh.gif

However, You can take almost anything you like( of course not the notes and books tongue.gif) I mean like Water bottle, even Handphone but you need to switch it off!

You may specify what you wanna take so that I can give you a better answer thumbup.gif

Really? The invigilator checked my acca card. Sorry I joined ACCA way back so I wasn't aware its not needed anymore.

You can bring any stationary into the hall. But I suggest not using liquid paper because the script is scanned. Also I generally don't use rulers in exam to draw lines because its time consuming. Highlighters would also not be picked up by the scanner if I'm not wrong.

Just find it easier in terms of reading the question paper and highlighting the case. Good to know that any stationery is allowed in.

And yeah apparently registration cards stopped after July 2011.. Just googled. Lol. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... But I didn't receive any notification or read anywhere about d card when I registered in July this yr heheh

Nervous.

Hello everyone,

I am currently studying ACCA part-time and planning to finish F1-3 by January (just finished my STPM prior to this). I want to know if it is advisable to proceed to skill sets paper without attending any classes, only with textbooks and some online references here and there. Also, is there any other method to obtain study material for law-related papers e.g. F4 in library/bookstore other than from lecturers themselves?

P/S : I will be attempting F1-3 with CAT textbooks - FAB, FMA and FFA. Should this be a cause of concern or the syllabuses cover just fine?

It should be totally fine wherever you study your F1, F2 and F3 from. They are easy enough to pass. Make sure you practice as many mock exams as possible. The questions would tend to repeat after a regular interval.

For the other skill level papers, the only paper you need to attend classes of should be F8 Audit and Assurance, since there are some points the teacher would tell you and apart from that you need someone to mark your answers!

No idea about F4, you may join some fb groups and ask someone there about it. I self-studied for F4 and took the UK variant so can't give my notes unless you wanna take the UK variant too.

Best of luck for your exams thumbup.gif
