hi all,

If the paint at the corner of ceiling drop a small portion, like 2 inch long and half inch wide, is it to paint the lost portion again with those ceiling paint, or any better treatment to prevent the side of the crack portion to drop further ?

All advice/ ideas appreciated. Thx.

hi all,

but before repaint, is there any material can be applied on the lost surface ?

also, which brand of ceiling paint can provide the maximum protection against paint crack ?

You mean peeling off? This is common when the side of the ceiling and wall or whatever was not dirt free during painting. When painting the surface usually will be clean to be dust free but ppl forgot about the wall and the side walls are dirty. As the roller or brush go over these areas it pick up the dirt from the side walls and painted on these side and the paint dont stick as good as the other areas and over time these dirty areas will drop or peel off especially the edges/joint that you really need to use brush to clean to make it real clean something like tooth brush. Under this situation no point painted it over. The better way is to peel off or brush out the paint and apply new layer of paint. There is no other treatment to prevent if from further droping off whatever kind of paint you use just like a plaster when the plaster no longer stick you put on another plaster on top of it it will not stick to the surface. The new and old paint will come off.

ya .. that's right .. "peeling off".
but in the entire ceiling only that small part peel off .. the rest no problem.

i saw in ACE hardware today there's a type of sealer for patching holes in wall & ceiling & fungus-resistance.. Would this type of sealer help, before i repaint that small peeled off part ?

How long it been paint? few years?

any vibration will cause the corner paint drop due to pressure...nothing much can do with in.
Because when people paint, painting with happen at the 90 degree area as well , this is where the paint start drop on.
And I believe other area (not corner) nothing is happen rights?

I see, peeling off huh.
Just repaint the ceiling will do. If want more assurance, paint a layer of solven base sealer then + 2 layers if enulsion paint.

Solvant base sealer from ICI if not mistaken the code is 17222.
Emulsion paint wise, all branded one also ok. Just avoid those back yard and 2nd liner brand.
