Chelsea player to watch: Frank Lampard. After kicking up a fuss when he wasn't playing as much under AVB, Lampard is back where he belongs in the centre of the Chelsea midfield and looks back to something approaching his best. The classy midfielder may not have the engine that he once possessed, but he is still able to get up and down the pitch and has scored six goals in his last 10 Premier League games against Man City. A man for the big occasion; he will be needed again.

Key battle: David Silva v Branislav Ivanovic. Silva has slipped out of the spotlight in recent weeks but remains the most important creative force for City. The Spanish star is great on the ball and his vision is key to opening up a Chelsea defence that has shown itself to be susceptible to leaks. Ivanovic, either in the centre or employed at right-back, will be required to plug the gaps and snuff out the danger of Silva as he drifts around. If he can repeat his goalscoring heroics of last week then all the better, but the Serbian's main duty will be to keep a rare clean sheet for the Blues.

But Spurs dropped some points so that's good. And Liverpool. lol. That's a consolation as well.

All in all it's a good wake-up call for that summer overhaul. 'Thanks for the honeymoon, that was some good dream.' Bring on those Spurts.
