Power saving mode is actually just a mode where it will dim your brightness, turn off wifi/ (when not connected)gps/bluetooth when it reaches a certain threshold. It actually wastes more battery as it wakes up the phone to check the battery gauge to determine that.

Also, depending on threshold also, frequency might also be limited (in certain ROMs that I know). It's not the case anymore in Ice Cream Sandwich. It was the case back in Gingerbread (one of the ROMs I use, as I remembered).

Script Manager will work too. The new Script Manager just updated its compatibility with ICS.

NEAK seems to be unstable at this moment. Probably hold off from flashing it with reports of laggy homescreens and general connectivity issues. :/

BetterBatteryStats sometimes wakeup to get the dumpsys alarm. It'll wake up the screen if you haven't allow the superuser prompt.

Odexed is faster but will sometimes lack the ability to theme (there're odexed themes sometimes, mostly deodexed).

Deodexed is a bit slower but has the ability to theme. (Actually themers are just lazy to odex their themes :/ or they lack the knowledge to do so, although its very easy)

I always avoid custom ROMs like the plague. Use the stock ROM and then customize from there smile.gif
