Guys, my friend told me if I were to flash official firmware 2.3.6 into my SGS2 through ODIN, I can never update or use KIES with my phone forever after doing so.

Is this true??

Guys, any guide in updating my Galaxy S2 non G to 2.3.6 for the moment now...

And one more thing, Why does my phone reacts slowly whenever I turned on Power Saving Mode.

My aunty's one is still smooth as usual when she turns on her Power Saving Mode, she's using G-version.

issit because of my Firmware or because my set is an AP set??

if no problem leh..fine one geh..kinda worried got problem..
btw i never did any updates on my phone before..how to do ah? and does it really help the phone if i keep it updated?

Yes, I'm using an AP set as well,hmmm...depends on you if you want to update your phone or not, but just be cautious when flashing. It can brick your phone anytime.... Galaxy S2 Non-g is stuck at 2.3.4 at the moment, if you want to go higher, is either ODIN.

Power saving mode is actually just a mode where it will dim your brightness, turn off wifi/ (when not connected)gps/bluetooth when it reaches a certain threshold. It actually wastes more battery as it wakes up the phone to check the battery gauge to determine that.

Also, depending on threshold also, frequency might also be limited (in certain ROMs that I know). It's not the case anymore in Ice Cream Sandwich. It was the case back in Gingerbread (one of the ROMs I use, as I remembered).
*
Oh really???? The mode I turned on isn't actually threshold mode, it totally turns the damn phone slows. Is like asking the phone to use a single core instead of dual core, that's how I feel lar...but then again, my battery life seems to improve under Power Saving Mode.

If I'm not mistaken they received update to 2.3.6 earlier then we do.

Supposedly assume, but when I plug it in to my PC, and use KIES to check on it, it shows "latest firmware".

Imagine how frustated I was....but nevermind, hopefully 2.3.6 treats my battery well....2.3.4 drains the hell out of it.

Guys previously I flashed 2.3.6 Malaysia Official firmware through ODIN.

But whenever I use KIES, it will shows "your device does not supports firmware upgrading via KIES"

I've checked online about this and most says because the firmware doesnt match the official stock rom and kernel that it first came with my phone.

How can I find and get back my official stock rom and kerneL?? Is there any method in doing so??
