I try bank Islam BT program, and I think its quite good. I submit the form and 2months cc statements on 27aug2012 and the payments was made on 12sep2012 so around 2weeks which is not bad for me, just like what MBB BT program last year in terms of their cheque payment to respective banks

Hi Titan Gunners,

I quoted this from http://genxgenygenz.blogspot.com/2012/09/c...hs-balance.html

6. In respect of this balance transfer programme, from the first day of the seventh (7th) month from the date of the Approved Balance transaction is posted to cardmember’s CIMB Bank credit card account, CIMB Bank shall impose finance charges on the outstanding balance. And since you are a new card member having account with CIMB for less than 12 months, the interest rate shall be 18% p.a.

Does that mean there will be charges right? if yes, it defeats the purpose of having a BT already isn't it?
is it the same for all banks? as I am planning to go for a 2 years repayment.
Any bank to recommend?

Thanks in advance.
*
of course laa you got charges when you still not finish the payment on 7th month after the approved date of BT, since the 0% only for 6months, after that you will get charges. If you want to BT for 2years period, I think the best one is BANK ISLAM since they got 5% charges for whole two years and the min transfer only rm1k. so its depend on you. I never find 2years BT without charges unless 0% 12months which maybank got before.

BSN don't have any 12 months 0% BT, it only having 6 months 0% BT. If you want 12 months you will get charge with (0.30% per month with first 6 months 0% interest)

By arguing here, why not u call the bank directly to enquire?

Normally, one only allowed 80 % available credit limit for balance transfer.
*
no point to call since its already stated in the BSN website, I just want to know if he got special promo whistling.gif

OK, 1st come 1st serve.

just got a sms from maybank for 50 unit samsung S3 and 50 unit galaxy tab to be won for BT to maybankard.

About this promo, I got call from Maybank..they also offer cash treat up to 36months but with some interest. So I just pass their promo since its a contest, if no luck no s3 or free tab tongue.gif I asked them when will get 0% BT, they said maybe end of this year...so to those who want to do BT, i think its not hurt to wait few more months since Maybank got 12months 0% history

so better to wait for their 0% promo then...

i just wondering.. let say we take the 0% promo for 12 months... if cannot settle during the 12 months.. the interest rate will be back to normal?
i'm not really clear about this BT thing... saw the promo from Maybank.. i thought i should sign-up but trying to seek opinion abt it first..

thanks
*
maybank BT usually will distribute ur BT amount to 12month(incase you take 12month BT).. for example you BT rm1.2k for 12months, so your maybank cc statements will shows rm100 (1/12) for first month and rm100 (12/12) for last month of BT. if you not paid the full amount each month, you will get charged according to normal cc rates. hope you get clear on this. this only true for maybank and others who follow the same rule tongue.gif

needing payment means the outstanding amount must at least the BT amount?
another example, if outstanding = RM800, and BT RM1000? possible?
*
to do that you can BT rm800 to two different banks and after both BT approved, you will have -rm800 in one of your cc but with rm1600 balance that need to be paid off soon tongue.gif
