i am reading this thread

http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?showtopic=102259

to gauge the cfe engine.. seems like there is quite a number of issue ppl r reporting.

abs module and cvt got sounds when hit bump and also something about (ocv valve, one way valve, then something about oil leakage from the vvt system) <- i group the last one is because its all the same issue but no one really knows the real cause

Added on March 23, 2012, 3:34 amwow. there seems to be a guy in autoworld call kristof that works at punch. he is answering all the questions ppl have about the gb. he himself is driving a bold.. by his english i think his not local.

then based on what? i believe kerb weight, engine output is fairly consistent. what we are trying to discuss here is the powerloss, which doesnt make sense

just be frank la.. 6% powerloss is too good to be true.

Added on March 31, 2012, 9:59 pm

and similar powerloss.
*
Tell me then where would the power loss be? IINM, the cvt in the Preve is using a wet clutch based system instead of a torque converter which is far from efficient. Power transferred to the clutch, then the cvt itself which runs on a metal belt which relies of compression of the belt instead of tension. I'm not really that surprised actually that the powerloss is low. Main reason why automatics have huge powerlosses is due to the torque converter anyway so if you can get rid of that, problem solved.

QUOTE(FenomX @ Apr 2 2012, 03:55 PM)
Actually it is better not to use it on windscreen. The reason is because if you happened to drop inside the water, how are you going to survive, you cant even open the door so the only way is to break the window and chow, now you have security tinted windscreen, how are you going to break it. No way, you are going to die inside the car but before that, let's just open the air-cond and your music to listen to.

Also, the robbery normally break your side windows and take ur item and just run away, they wont or hardly break your windscreen because there's a big distance as your car hood is there, they might have to climb to get inside the cockpit of the car.

Good thinking..& i also thought about this scenario (touch wood) before i decided to install the security tint. So I always brought along a heavy steering lock & a small rambo knife..hopefully i have enough time (& strength) to slash/tear the tint film & smash the window/windshield using the heavy steering lock. Ya..i have to agree that this is the worst case scenario that we should think of.

By the way..i've heard or read somewhere before..it is much easier to break a window with a security tint if we smash it from inside rather than outside..is it proven? Can anybody shed some light about this?  rolleyes.gif
*
all cars have laminated windscreen which is even stronger than your security tint which is why robbers always target the side windows which is not even tempered glass, or mild tempered at best. I turtled my Kelisa last time and guess what? The windscreen is still in one piece.

another thing, if you watched Mythbusters before, the only way to break your windscreen is to use a commercial glass breaker. keys, phone or anything you'd usually find in your car would not be able to break your windscreen without tint. Best way to get out of a car underwater is to open your door before it starts to sink, waiting for the water to fill up the car fully before opening the door, or opening the window if you have time.

I disagree with that. My friend's 1.3 4E-FTE with BOT putting out around 250hp can have better FC than my stock standard waja manual.

if you look closely, these 2 pics are not the same. the white one maybe was a pre-production concept design. look closely at the rear combi lamps. the real one have it's middle strip flush with the bottom part of the lamp while for the white one, the lamp goes below the middle strip.

Proton's immediate product strategy places the Prevé in between the Persona and Inspira in its model line-up. So, to further separate the top-spec RM75k Prevé from the Inspira, the latter's 1.8-litre variants will be discontinued, and as a very interesting side note, we were informed that an Inspira 2.0 manual is in the pipeline

2.0M Inspira? AWWWWW YEAHH!! rclxms.gif

We are also pleased to report that the Prevé keeps up Proton's promise in delivering cars that ride and handle with the best of them. Suspension setup is indeed world class, with a spot on balance in terms of ride quality and handling sharpness. Stability at high speeds, up to 200kph, is beyond reproach, and amongst C-segment competitors, only the Ford Focus will have nothing to fear from the Prevé in terms of ride and handling.

Lotus Ride And Handling as its best? flex.gif
