Criteria for poll selection
- Only games that have been released on either PS3 or Xbox 360 will be entered into the polls
- Only games whose franchise started on the PS3 or Xbox 360 will be entered into the polls
- Only franchises that have more than one title released will be entered into the polls

- By impact, I mean "which franchise had the biggest connection to you as a player, and made you fall in love with it"

Agreed. Gears and Uncharted are undoubtedly the 2 strongest contenders imo. But why nobody voted for Uncharted yet? T_T

Because COD doesn't match the poll criteria

For ps3 definitely uncharted.but personally I don't think it was great but I am talking about the masses.if you talk about the wii its easier to figure what games define the wii.

For me, if defining, definitely L.A. Noire or Uncharted trilogy that raise the bar. They made games like watching a movie, but in fact you control the 'movie'.

ill say assassins creed and mass effect...

Since this topic is about defining the current gen and not asking which series was your favorite, I'd say LBP out of all the choices given.

Blazblue didnt do much for the fighting game scene compared to SF.

Crysis and resistance shouldnt even be contending.

Everything else had a decent story as their main appeal.

Yeah but unfortunately it only has 1 installment so far, so cannot be considered a franchise yet...

If Crysis was there, then Crysis 2 manages make more prettified graphics in current gen consoles. But, I don't think it should be there when it started on the PC .

Aside from that, I don't think any of the games really define anything in the current gen consoles

why no halo for xbox?

i voted uncharted but on reflection i'd like to think demon's souls/dark souls redefined console rpgs

I agree with you. All the other games mainly take something and do it better, and don't really define the current game gen. Little Big Planet puts the power of game creation and strong community support which is different from most games (LBP2 even raises it further).

My vote goes to Blazblue..since I'm a BB Fan
