either take 5.84c or 6.19b(the most stable version i ever played) or 6.27b(or latest) as tourney's map ...
bcoz as i see 6.12b still has alot of bugs needed to be fix. 

I'd advise against using ver 6.12 for the reason that online players don't usually play this version..

The feedback you got that 6.12 is an excellent choice would be true in July  2005 but it is no longer true in December 2005..

If you are going to use a 6xx series map then please go with the recommended tournament version which is the 6.19B or the latest 6.27B..
Otherwise stick to 5.84C or better use 5.84D (as this is a fixed-up version of 5.84C)

My opinion only...

Regarding the DotA version, either stick with 5.84c or 6.27b. There's no point to play v6.12 since it has been changed and tweaked numerous times due to balancing and bugs issues.

6.12 --> 6.27b  You already can think how many changes they've made.

Bro you only have 3 choices lar:-

1. Version 5.84c/d (More elite players):-
- Most malaysians play this map. Bad point is there's a group of people who refuses to play this map coz of support for newer map versions. Also i think most people already know who are the people who will probably win the tourney.

2. Version 6.19b
- Good point is this map is one of the more stabler versions. basically i think if i'm the organiser wouldn't really wanna go use this map reason is becoz this map is neither here nor there. In other words ask yourself this question... you want to attract elite players or new team testing out their tactics?

3. VErsion 6.27b or Latest Version ( more teams testing out new tactics)
- good plus point for using this map is becoz it's new, here are a lot of untested tactics out there.
- You need to set a dateline to decide the latest version
- bad point is lots of bugs might still exist. So you will need more experience Dota Marshals around and make it very clear in your instructions what is considered as bug abuse and what is not.

i think u should use 6.27b ... stick with it even though new version come out .. as team need to train and develop tactic ... hard to train if the version keep of changing .... 96 teams ar .. i think hard to get so many teams ... but maybe .. maybe got ppl interested since new map /// new chances of winnning liaw ..

For you info... Tomolo nite got a touney which is 6.27b...
it is about 20 Teams joined...

As much as I support v6, I would have to say 5.84c is still the way to go unless players themselves wish to change. And to those who diss 5.84c so much, there is something about 5.84c ( not the bugs or imbaness ) that definately cannot be achieved by IceFrog. Maybe it is the terrain, or simplicity of the recipes or something. I just don't feel it to be the same.
I believe 5.84c will definately attract more people by a big margin. Somehow I think even by changing to v6, those ' supporters ' won't really join. 5.84c top clan players can adapt within a week just adjusting to the slight changes ( no TS, Bone nerf, Medusa nerf, etc ). This is my opinion throughout all my years of WC3/DotA and marshalling.
However sooner or later the switch must be done =/.

I disagree with people saying that using v6.27b as the tournament version would discourage teams to join.

As long as the prize money is alluring enough, people will still join. Pros are pros whether v5 or v6 DotA, they still can excel.

For me personally, I would like to see v.6.27b as the map to be used, as this would open up more possibilities, fresh strategies and gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I still play v5.84c these days but it's just getting too dull with strategies, hero line ups and some of the rules for v5.84c.

Maybe it's time for one cyber cafe to make the 1st step.

i'll be rooting for your tournament if its v6, .84c is very old and buggy, those 'pros' who use it will always pick the imba heroes, mainly SA, medusa, Morphling, etc...and if u see online (Bnet), alot of ppl now are switching to the latest version, this includes those from singapore...and umm..the rest of the WORLD, only Msians are still playing 84c...why? they like to abuse bug and they like the imbaness of the heroes, they focus only on winning instead of having fun.

To 108net - So can u confirm once more the date and the map to be used ?(so we can train) and the prize too..and no worry mr.108net...what version to be used u can based on the respond k...if there are low respond on the new version map...then use back the old map...any map will do for the pros i believe...they will take any challenge..kk ciouz and peace everyone =)

the singapore format is makes the game of dota very very open ...in terms of strategy wise ...it forces players to be more versatile and more of a thinking game ...rather than more micro intensive

one thing i want to comment about the singapore format ... is that ... it rather defeats the purpose of dota in terms of "scourge vs sentinel" format ... as cited by one of my friend.

nevertheless ...it is a very interesting idea ... and i indeed would like to see how games would be played out ...cuz that format is indeed very balanced and fair as hero choices is no longer restricted to 2 pools of heroes
