So, Brian Fargo took to Kickstarter to get funds for this, and has raised over 1 million USD so far. All in 2 days. There's still 32 days left to go; who knows how much funding the project will ultimately get.

What's Wasteland you ask? Only one of the best RPGs ever made for the PC. It's the game that inspired Fallout. You can read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasteland_(video_game)

I'm posting this here mainly to raise awareness. Pledge guys! Pledge! The more the project gets, the better the game the can give us. People who pledge at least 15 USD also get the game for free, so you're basically buying the game in advance. I've put in a hundred USD myself. Think about it... a game from Brian Fargo and the original team that created Wasteland, with music from Fallout/Fallout 2's composer, and a story by the co-creator of Fallout... for 15 USD. Worth every penny!

Go here if you want to pledge: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2

That's how much Wasteland 2 has raised from kickstarter. And here's a message from Brian Fargo:

QUOTE
I continue to be overwhelmed by the positive feedback and enthusiasm from the support I have gotten from Kickstarter. The groundswell of people cheering us on and the evangelism - people spreading the word - is unlike anything I have experienced. In fact, I would say the last week was the high water mark of my career.

We are closing in on the funding for 1.5 million which will allow us to add both a Mac and Linux version of Wasteland 2 to the release. One of the (more common) questions I am asked is whether we'll support console and I believe it to be unlikely. It is imperative that we deliver the core PC experience that the fans are expecting here and I want to avoid any elements that could distract us. The console interface is quite different when you consider the input device and proximity to the screen whereas the Mac and Linux are pretty much identical to that of the "PC". We will consider a tablet version due to the similarity of the screen and interface but even on that we need to do a bit more research.

There have been some nice human moments along the way that I thought I would share.

We started off strong in the first 24 hours raising nearly 50% of our minimum need but still I was nervous. All the signs of success were there but we all wanted it to happen so badly that it seemed to good to be true. Around 6:00 that first night we received an email from a wealthy software industry individual who is a passionate fan of Wasteland and offered to help fund the game if Kickstarter came short! Talk about feeling good. Of course I thanked him and said I hoped we would not need his assistance but he made my whole day/week/month/year.

On the next day I get a short tweet from an individual that confesses he pirated Wasteland as a kid and was donating to help make up for it. I of course forgave not knowing he had donated $10,000 dollars. An incredible gesture... now if we could get every pirate of Wasteland 1 to donate we could really beat the Kickstarter all time record.

Mason Douglass who plays the kid publisher in the Kickstarter video  has gotten rave reviews for his performance. His delivery was great and I have had people wanting to contact his manager for parts in TV/film. I jokingly told him when we shot the bit that he might become famous from this. Perhaps he will.

And just today I got an email along with a donation from a kid who lived down the street from me when he was a teenager. His note was as follows:

"This message is intended for Brian Fargo. Brian, I was your next door neighbor when you used to live in Laguna. I was a pesky 15 or 16 year old kid that would come around and ask you about games. You would sit down and take time to talk to me about games, and the industry, and I just wanted you to know how cool it was that you didn't blow me off. It meant a lot to me. Recently, I found out about your Kickstarter movement for Wasteland 2, and I contributed to it because I believe in you and your ability to resurrect the glory of the franchise. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors, and thank you again for creating some memorable memories for me during my teenage years. Take care!"

It shows that being nice creates goodwill 20 years later.

And speaking of goodwill it occurs to me that we can harness the power of Kickstarter in a more meaningful way. Fan funding is bigger than me or Wasteland 2 as I have remarked before. The development community has come together to support us in ways that I didn't think possible and our power as developers will ultimately come from us sticking together.  Both gamers and developers have so much more strength than they realize. But in order to help facilitate the power of crowd funding I am going to suggest that all of us that do utilize this form of financing agree to kickback 5% of our profits made from such projects to other Kickstarter developers. I am not suggesting taking a backers money and moving it to another project.. I mean once a game has shipped and created profit that we funnel that back into the community of developers to fund their dreams. I am tentatively calling this "Kick It Forward" and I will be the first to agree to it. In fact, I will have our artists create a badge that goes on all Kickstarter projects that agree to support this initiative. Imagine the potential if another Minecraft  comes along via Kickstarter and produces millions of dollars of investment into other developers. This economic payback will continue to grow the movement way beyond the current system. I hope others will join me with this idea and make this a true shakeup.

Let's get the power shifted around a bit!

Brian Fargo

And here's a video too!

And why would he do that? If he wanted to make it a FPS, he could just have pitched it as a FPS to the publishers and safe himself all this trouble no?

No no no. Top down, turned based, squad level RPG.

I think a lot of you don't know who Brian Fargo is, do you? I guess if you're in your early 20s now, then chances are you'd have missed the great wave of Interplay RPGs back in the mid 90s.

I put my pledge on this as well. Really interested in the universe, ever since I read a FAQ about the game after reading how it was related to Fallout.

From what I heard, Fallout is the spiritual successor to Wasteland and was intended to be the sequel to that.

What happened? I don't exactly know but considering it's released by EA at the time could've explained why it's pretty much dead until now.

Neither did I.
I support it mainly because of Fallout & Fallout2 by Brian Fargo and Interplay. That and to show the support we have for these classic games.
If you wait till the game came out, you'll have to pay the full retail price maybe at 39USD tongue.gif

I dunno. I pledged a hundred bucks so I didn't really take a look at what the other amounts entails. It doesn't make sense for it to not be on steam if the infrastructure to have the beta is already there, does it?

So, will Wasteland 2 camera be similar to Fallout 1?

EA coaxing Kickstarter projects to Origin, Wasteland 2 the first

user posted image
QUOTE
Electronic Arts has announced that it will start inviting funded Kickstarter projects to their digital distribution service Origin. The first game that will be on the service is Brian Fargo's Wasteland 2. Fargo stresses that it will not be an Origin exclusive, however.

According to EA senior VP David DeMartini, “The public support for crowd-funding creative game ideas coming from small developers today is nothing short of phenomenal. It’s also incredibly healthy for the gaming industry.

"Gamers around the world deserve a chance to play every great new game, and by waiving distribution fees on Origin we can help make that a reality for successfully crowd-funded developers.”

“I have had a long relationship with EA and it is great to see them recognize and support the crowd-funded games model,” Fargo wrote in his own press statement, “Having Origin waive their distribution fees for 90 days for fan funded games is a major economic bonus for small developers. We look forward to bringing Wasteland 2 to the Origin audience.”

EA's waiving of the fee for completed Kickstarter projects makes Origin a more attractive option for indie developers than other services that do charge distribution fees, like Steam.

Wasteland 2 release pushed back to September

QUOTE
Wasteland 2 has been pushed back to September so that the team at inXile can create the discs and other paraphernalia needed for the game's physical editions.

The Kickstarter-funded RPG was set to launch this month, but project lead Chris Keenan explains, "It’s pretty likely that we will slip into the first or second week in September, due to fulfillment of the physical goods and discs."

Depends on the game, I guess.

Patches so far are quite small.

the USD60 is digital deluxe edition. final release might have normal edition which is cheaper but doesn't include the bonus from Digital Deluxe edtion.

The game is pretty bad
I play the beta because I backed it and I can say that if you are hoping for good gameplay in this game, don't. Have less options than even Shadowrun.
Based on the beta, the story is so and so only. Not that good but no that bad.
Graphic is pretty much what you see.

There is another 5gb update for Wasteland 2 according to Cracksys. However, game is still in an early access stage.

2D sprite used in original FO/FOT would always looks better than 3D model; at least for a couple of years more.

anyway, RPG with tactical element would never trump tactical game with RPG element.

so yeah, comparing it with Shadowrun is just wrong.

1. RPG with tactical element: Fallout Tactics, Shadowrun, Icewind Dale series?
2. tactical game with RPG element: Wasteland 2? Jagged Alliance? Please provide more examples.

Is my understanding correct?

IMO, RPG with tactical element is Fallout, Arcanum, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Night, Witcher 1, Drakensang, TOEE (my fav after Fallout).

Fallout Tactic, Jagged Alliance, Shadowrun, Syndicate (the original, not the FPS abomination) are tactical games with RPG elements.

you can see clear distinction on how the former emphasize on stories, dialogs, mission branching and NPCs more than the later.

that's why the combat system of the former would almost never be as deep as the later.

Urm, Shadowrun is a RPG with tactical element
You should have play it already that and while it have better gameplay (the Shadowrun gameplay is still terrible compared to TOEE, Jagged Alliance 2, FFT, Tactics Ogre), the story, dialogues and mission branching is there in Shadowrun.

I given my feedback based on the beta I played.
If you regret it after purchasing it, don't say I didn't warned you.

Seriously, if anyone is interested in Wasteland 2 and haven't backed it, just wait until all the youtube let's player that you watched have the game first and watch if the gameplay is to your taste.
You can then judge yourself if it's to your taste or not.

finished shadowrun returns twice and i didn't find any mission branching in it.

it is just one linear main mission with couple of unrelated side missions. the dialogue are forced options and the one you can really pick based on your etiquette is just those that rewards you with more monies/resources.

that is not to say it's a bad game since i spent and enjoyed a good 30 hours out of it.

it's an OK tactical game with some RPG element but excellent storytelling.

Well, I've been away from the thread for quite some time. Glad to see a discussion going on. Do you guys want me to lock the thread so you can open a new one? Let me know.

If this can be as good as Divinity Original Sin, then it's probably worth the money. How much has changed since the beta first opened? I honestly didn't enjoy it back then.

I went to highpool first. It's not a bad game, but somehow I prefer D:SO's combat more. I guess the ability to mix up spells and blow up stuff is more satisfying? Still early in the game tho, so who know what might open up.

You can buy the radiation suit from Ranger Citadel.

It can't take more than level 2 radiation.

Think you rarely need it once you get better sniper rifles. Can one hit most of the time.

Feel like there's some stuff missing from the game. Like at Ag Center, when the doc asked you to collect pods, either fragments or whole. Apparently missing one skill to be able to collect the whole pod (sneaking skill I was told). Then at Citadel there's the head at the museum, it says if I have robotics and electronic skills, I might be able to hack it. Only have computer skills but can't use it on the head hmm.gif

Unker 20 hours already notworthy.gif Only played 8 hours so far

You need Outdoorman skill to help those scientists being held hostage.

I don't think you need skill to collect the pod fragmentsl. I managed to complete the quest. Also there are some sidequests after this, so make sure you explore every inch.

Or you can use surgeon skills for the hostage.

No, no. If you read the dialogue when the doc gives you that quest, she said that you can either collect 10 fragments, or if one of your party members have "green hands and quick reflexes", you can just collect one whole pod before it explodes. I thought green hands means outdoorsman, but when you use that skill on the pod, you can't click it. So there's something missing there, you can only complete the quest by picking 10 fragments instead of the whole pod that didn't explode.

You mean sidequests after using serum on the center? I did all of the sidequests there I think, before I got the cure for the stuff. Maybe I will walk around again and see.

2. You mean sidequests after using serum on the center? I did all of the sidequests there I think, before I got the cure for the stuff. Maybe I will walk around again and see.

1. Hmmm, I misunderstood earlier.

2. Yes. The one where you have to

I am curious as to whether do you still get the side quests in AG if you go to highpool first.

nope. it's one of those CHOOSE either ONE quests. you can also ignore and FAIL both requests if you just go somewhere else on your own sweet time... laugh.gif

for weapons my party uses a combination of ARs, sniper rifles, energy weapons & pistols. shotguns are just bloody awful & pointless. doh.gif

melee weapons also suck since they miss almost all the time. i think put points into brawling better.

btw i INT 8 is a must for party members since 4 skillpoints per level is the optimum way your characters get better. gotta say i prefer Fallout's skills more than Wasteland's. spending points for lockpick & safecracking seem pretty redundant sweat.gif

No wonder.

I agree with you Shotguns. I already stop using them. For close range, I will stick with submachine guns, good damage and so so accuracy.

I also don't use melee weapons. Better off taking them out before they get close.

Most of the time, can sneak a shot from the Sniper before the turn based combat commenced.

sniper rifles are awesome but becoz of the high AP i only have one sniper.

it's only the early parts of the game but so far there's not a lot of place for my team to take cover unlike X-COM. and i would have liked it if the team can be put in ambush mode prior to combat instead of choosing it when their turn is up.

It is more like Fallout series and Jagged Alliance series than How to Survive.

Good fun if you like turn-based tactical games.

in terms of loot management, i like Wasteland's inventory better than D:OS.

find a gun? ok. better than the one you're using? use it. if not then just strip the weapons for parts and sell the rest of the junk! simple! thumbup.gif

i spent HOURS trying to organize my inventory in D:OS... rclxub.gif

Wasteland 2's first post-launch patch due today, "save games will be fine"

QUOTE
Brian Fargo and inXile Entertainment are patching Wasteland 2 for the first time since officially releasing. There are still a number of bugs and glitches to work through, including the combat stats.

To a great cheer among Rangers, Fargo reveals they've "backed off on gun jamming" percentages, which are happening much too frequently given the numbers.

The full changelog will be made available once the patch is live, but they could well contain spoilers so beware. The studio hopes to have Steam achievements next month.

Better localization is also being worked on for the next patch, with a manual French language solution available right now, but it'll have to be manually removed once this new update is released. Gamers have been complaining that the stats in Wasteland 2 aren't all that accurate, with percentages seemingly way off.

"Some of you will be happy to know that we backed off on gun jamming % a bit. Was a tad frustrating but sure great when the enemy did," tweeted Brian Fargo. "Hope to have an update with Steam achievements in the next month, be prepared because they will be quite odd."

Gum jams are a plague even though they could be just around 2-5% of a chance to happen. This also affects the percentages when using picklock, or other skills outside of combat, so it's an underlying problem with random number generation it seems. Hopefully this patch will restore some sanity to the Wastes.

*UPDATE* Wasteland 2 earns $1.5 million over four days, claims inXile

QUOTE
*UPDATE* We originally reported this as 1.5 million copies sold in four days. Turns out that was ever so slightly off, and inXile got back to us swiftly with a correction:

"Apologies, due to the communication wires being crossed, inXile actually achieved $1.5 million in revenue sales over four days on Steam, not units sold.

Whilst still impressive, it’s a different story from what we thought. We can only apologise for the confusion and are now banging our collective heads again a desk."

No problem chaps! Please don't knock yourselves unconscious on our account.

----

According to inXile Entertainment, its long awaited post-apocalyptic sequel Wasteland 2 has earned over $1.5 million in sales over the first four days since it launched last Friday.

"We are ecstatic that the style of game we love so much has been embraced so well," said inXile's founder Brian Fargo. He's right to be chuffed, those are some impressive numbers.

It's been a long and winding road for Wasteland 2. Originally planned for release last October, the team decided to add an extra year of development time after they raised almost $3 million through the game's Kickstarter campaign - $2 million more than they had planned for.

Finally released last Friday, 25 years after the original Wasteland came out, Wasteland 2 has been largely well received by critics so far. In our review we said that despite some rough patches and the occasional piece of uninspiring level design; "It's a perfectly enjoyable RPG with some fun combat and exploration, and a worthy sequel to the cult original."

The game's available over on Steam right now. It will be fascinating to see what the inXile team do next. Brian Fargo has expressed a wish to return to Kickstarter, and given the success of Wasteland 2 that would seem like a smart move.

i myself have to eat humble pie as despite my intiial wariness about the game i am currently enjoying doing all the missions except maybe being the messenger boy in the rail nomads camp (that one sure sucked ass doh.gif ). barely notice how the game looks like now. tongue.gif

it's hilarious too. those honey badgers.. laugh.gif

on a side note, i find that even with a medic tagging along, you can't heal stunned & broken limb status. very annoying...

things the medic can do:
heal disease - use antibiotics
heal poison - use antivenom
heal bleeding - use sutures
heal knocked out - use trauma kit

I also didn't like that railroad nomad quest. Almost all possible outcomes are bad with the exception of one.

I really like the more combat orientated aspect of the game as compared to the RPG elements.

Frankly, the only thing I am annoyed at is the fact that I need to contact HQ to level up.

i have 2 guys carrying AR, 1 guy with energy weapons & 1 sniper. most of them have high coordination (for the % to hit) & intelligence (4 skill points per level).

i really hate melee weapons as they tend to miss a lot. brawling might be better but as i didn't want to waste the skill points i just go pure range.

useless skills so far are animal whispering, bartering, & toaster repair. what a waste of time.

btw, i didn't quite understand the recruitable follower mechanics at first. if you did not include them in your team the first time, it seems that they're gone forever. need to dismiss one of your followers once. recruit them. then dismiss them again. why can't i just tell them to go to the base?!! doh.gif

also i have missed a lot of followers it seems.. sweat.gif

my current party:

1. brawler 10/10
2. blunt 6/10 convert to brawler 6/10
3. blade 7/10 now convert to brawler 6/10
4. pistol 4/10 now sniper 9/10.

my sniper has 10 coordination
all my 3 brawlers has 10 strength
feels very good when i punch them and they explode into pieces.
blunt and blade really sucks.
brawling damage gets higher when they level up.
my level 16 brawler non crit damage is around 23 - 26 i think but his crit rate is 100% so its always crit damage x 2.5 so the damage is like around 58 - 65 per punch? sometimes i see 70+ though i dunno how that happen.

5. angela deth default 6/10 assault rifle, i read she gonna leave later
6. dr rose pistol 3/10 then i train her assault rifle 6/10

recruit tribal ralphy but sent him back to ranger citadel.

the shotgun hobo hates me, says i smell bad. dun wanna talk to me anymore.

yeah, animal whisper, barter, toaster repair really useless.
the items found in toaster repair ... quite rather useless. maybe only for memento purposes? no combat application at all.

on a sidenote i discovered that it's not a good idea to be hostile/aggresive when you come to a new area. gonna miss out on a lot of the quests in the area.

if they ask for a toll, just pay them. retribution can come later.

ehehehe only 3 true brawlers with 10 str though, yeah the 3 of them are my pack mules ahaha.

err for robots, those small fry, first found when they revisit the radio station, can hit them just fine, no problem.

for the err 3 big watermelon spider type, found in the abandoned place south of the prison, those has lots of health, can hit them just fine also. but they downed 2 of my men when we finally killed off the 3rd one.

i have not met other high level synthetics yet though.

also, i noticed that, the hit % for other human melee opponents seems a bit lower.

for example, my 10/10 brawler hit ranged opponents, 100%, but if versus melee opponents, could become 95% liddat.

i'm playing on easy btw, i really enjoy punching their faces off ahahahah.
the animation, blood, so enjoice!

where are u at the moment? if you scour every loot in the game, you shouldn't have any money problems at all.

remember, after fixing the repeater in either Ag or Highpool, you should return to HQ to have access to better weapons and armory.

and yeah someone in your party should have the weaponsmith skill because you can get good money for the weapon broken parts. (merchant in HQ).

in short, stripped weapon parts = $$$

in this regard i like what inXile did. i can use the weapon mods gained & sell the scraps that i can't use.

at least i don't have to steal every single painting on the wall like i did in Divinity: Original Sin laugh.gif

i play on easy, my initial ranger party of 4 have 3 melee, 1 brawler, 1 blunt, 1 blade, but now all brawlers though.
10/10 brawler one, me! "Deimos Tel`Arin"
7/10 brawler two, "Bull" originally using blunt weapons, 6/10 blunt weapons
6/10 brawler three, "Mikasa" originally using blade weapons, 7/10 blade weapons
4/10 gunslinger, "Miss Fortune" now also well trained in sniper rifles! 9/10 sniper rifles

i have 4k+ scraps now, bullets is never a problem, always enough, since 3 brawlers no use bullets, btw all my 3 brawlers carrying 150 damage bazookas as secondary weapon, have not found a good reason to use them yet though.

during desert encounters, i often encounter raiders with lots of nice assault rifles, i just haul them all back to ranger citadel to sell for scraps.

btw i just realized, i should have kept those shit instead of selling them off earlier.

our ranger citadel bomb expert, encik TNT Tan (yes, i think he's a chinese laugh.gif) will buy shit from you dafuq ahahahahahahh rclxub.gif

eh what level of weapon smith do you need before you start to get good amounts of scrap value from the broken weapon parts hor?

i noticed that i get better value if i trade in the whole weapon.

to get scrap skill level 1 is enough. but those weapon mods like scope and long barrels can do wonders to your weapons.

your AR guys can also become snipers and pistols can shoot almost as far as vanilla rifles! notworthy.gif

i recommend weaponsmith until level 7 if u wanna play with the mods.. thumbup.gif

ooo for my 2nd play though, i'm thinking of

- go in with 1 normal character (me!)
- go in with 1 "modified" godlike character 10 all stats, maybe 10 all skills also (maybe overkill with all skills 10)

and then recruit the 3 jokers at the starting area (i read wiki, they only join if your initial ranger party has less than 4 characters)

cos angela deth, dr rose often have some commentary when we walk around new places, i wonder if those 3 jokers have anything to say?

ah yes, slicer dicers the name! ahhaahah water melon spiders ahahahaha !!!
i think they kaboom also when they die.

two of my brawlers were knocked out due to the kaboom of the 3rd watermelon spider bot lor.

now they level up slower. mad.gif
i think if your character is downed, they dun get the exp for the fight! duh!

regarding brawling, i think the damage increases as your rangers level up.

3 of my brawlers are only using brass knuckles with a base damage of 6 - 9 but they are currently doing 23 - 26 damage with them! that's way much higher than any other blunt or blade weapon with higher base damage!

they are level 16 by the way.

Thank god for reloading save games.

I do it so many times to get the results of certain quests.

Trying to figure a good ending for Titan Canyon, at least to my liking.

i can't wait to see the endings (ala Fallout) at the places i've been. even a picture with a summary for each location is enough.

no need to have fancy CGI endings but with different color explosions. smile.gif

You can get a sneak peak every time you complete an area from General Vargas. He would provide some comments though.

i also enjoy the radio broadcasts we get from time to time from either Vargas or the community in the waste. it adds to the atmosphere of the Wasteland setting. smile.gif

a feature that would have been cool though is a car like in Fallout 2. that thing was REALLY handy as a packmule. becoz right now all of my rangers have low strength so sometimes i had to leave a lot of loot behind.. sweat.gif

Although unconfirmed, I would think there is potential a alternate way of transport given that two skills are sort of hidden.

What type of guns?

I am using M16 and AK47 with expanded ammo mods and sturdy mags. They rarely jam.

Been playing non stop!!

Just max out the brawling, assault and sniper
(energy weapon is useless)

Tips : always take off the heavy armor when you went against opponent that using energy weapon
(they can easily one hit and melt you cry.gif )

Essential skills =computer,lockpick,medic and surgeon!

Always hear up 2 sides first before you decide which side to pick

This is one of best games i play so far rclxms.gif

i just finished the game. the final boss was kinda disappointing to be honest. he's no Frank Horrigan. but all good things must come to an end eventually. phew! biggrin.gif

and in true Fallout fashion your deeds & their effect on the areas in Arizona & LA are also summarized.

they even have something for the followers that you brought along with you. quite a nice touch. smile.gif

as far as weapons go, yeah assault rifles, sniper rifles & grenades are the ONLY viable choice for a playthrough until the end the way i see it. energy weapons inability to score critical hits makes them a no go for later battles. heavy weapons are just too AP-expensive.

dunno how brawling will fare against the late enemies becoz they're heavily armored with huge hitpoints. but yeah make sure everyone has those frag grenades standby!

Steam says 24 hours. i did most of the subquests in Arizona but had to pass some of the subquests in LA as they're quite buggy.

inXile REALLY needs to stomp out the bugs in LA. just keep a lot of spare savegames when you reach there.

Probably nasty comments from the General and during the ending, similar to the old Fallout series.

Which Assault Rifles would you recommend?

I am still stuck with M-16s. I have started using Aug. Fully modded for longer range as usual.

my favorites are the G41 & AK97.

once you've modded them with long barrels & high-powered scopes, a crit-burst to the head (~90% hit chance) would mostly solve all your problems. even the robotic nightmares that you'll eventually meet. biggrin.gif

Hmmm, thanks. I have limited 7.56mm ammo, need to find way to stock up on that.

The robots are powerful. Takes a lot of shots from my M-16s. I pack a few rocket launchers also, seems to be good for dishing out damage to many enemies at the same time (if close enough).

yes i know. they have a lot of armor. you need guns that have a high armor penetration.

energy weapons do wonders against robots but they suck at everything else. add to the fact that they also can't do any critical hits spending skill points on energy weapons is a waste IMO.

rocket launchers are too heavy (all my rangers have puny strength). i just use a combination of my ARs, sniper rifles & those frag grenades. good thing you don't need to spend any skillpoints to use grenades effectively. now if only the game has EMP grenades... biggrin.gif

Hmmmm. Energy weapons good for mods though lol.

I also noticed that if I reject a NPC to join my team. There will be gone for good namely, Pistol guy and the monk guy.

ya lor. the game has a lousy way of recruiting the NPC. you need to take the gear from your ranger that you want to dismiss (he'll return to HQ by himself) and then accept the new guy to join. otherwise he's gone for good.

i want them to join but i'd like to offload my gear & disposable guy at the HQ first. why can't they go to the Ranger HQ first and we can team up there? rclxub.gif

If that happens, likely your team will be overburdened and therefore not mobile.

Despite its issues, I still like the game very much.

dafuq 2.4gb patch
http://steamcommunity.com/games/240760/ann...391770057472171

Highlights

- Large amount of memory optimizations, particularly with audio, to improve performance and stability on lower-spec systems and 32-bit operating systems.
- Fixed enemy “unlimited AP” movement bug that allowed them to sometimes move much farther than intended.
- Extensive improvements and fixes to California questlines, particularly in Hollywood and Griffith Park. May require you to load an older save file before Hollywood to fully benefit.
- Added a travel speed toggle to the world map, allowing you to zip and zoom around if you so please (doesn't affect encounters, only travel speed).
- Added a new UI when CNPCs are recruited. This lets you more easily compare their stats and choose to dismiss one when a new one offers to join.
- Custom portraits will now work correctly when Windows account username contains non-English characters.
- Added support for "Very Large" text.
- Added 50 messages to load screens containing gameplay hints and tips.
- Loading now continues when the game is tabbed out, and pauses after finishing.
- Further UI fixes and improvements, such as new and correctly used icons.
- Many localization updates and bug fixes across all languages.
