Hi all. I am new to forex and just learning about the basic trading information. Do you guys think Forex is riskier compare to other investment like property? Usually how long it takes to become a proficient in forex trader? Thanks.
*
i believe that Fx is riskier compare to other short term investment.
if compare wif property investment, it's totally diff kind of investment.
Fx
1. Short term investment
2. T + 0, no limitation on how long before the order can be liquidated
3. Spot market, moving ups and downs everyday
Most importantly, look for broker with license to protect your fund to ensure that your money is "VALID" in your account.
It might take years to become a proficient fx trader. Maybe 1 or 2 yrs.....

Property
1. Long term investment
2. Huge capital (depends on what kind of property u r buying)
3. There is a lock-in period if getting loan from bank (most banks hav lock-in period for under-construction property).
4. It might take years to get price appreciation. If to receive rental income, nd to get good tenant.

Suggest to diversify your money.

Anyone using Samsung Galaxy or I-phone to do trading ? If so, please advice what is the good telecom service package (celcom, maxis, digi, p1 etc) in term of reliability (some provider may re-send signal, as a result, broker may open 2 similar orders even though only one order button was clicked by trader.) and its speed, thank you. smile.gif

candlestick pattern is great strategy. I believe many expert traders have their own "secret weapons" in this forum as well. I personally like to emphasize on money management no matter past trades win or lose, I am using Kelly Criterion ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_criterion ) . biggrin.gif
