i wanna ask for advice here since this thread is somehow active.it may not have much relevance but maybe the sifus here can help me decide

so i'm still debating either to choose studying foundation engineering at mmu or a level at taylors

the reason i want to choose mmu is because i can live the university life.i did went to utp before but didn't like it much because too far away from the city.i like to join clubs and events too.
bonus question,any official/unofficial audiophile@photography@anime@game clubs in mmu?

as for taylor's,i want to go there is mainly because i want to continue to study overseas.fees won't be much a problem since my parents are willing to pay.but i have my doubts about the ability to join clubs and events as i heard that it is exam-oriented program like spm.therefore i think that i won't be able to live the university life like in mmu.

so can someone verify if my facts are right or wrong?it doesn't have to be taylor's btw since i think most a level courses have the same type of student life anyway

ahh the normal question between interest and job market. biggrin.gif
I would recommend software engineering. One of my friend have taken that course and now working for a game developer company. According to him game development is too specific while software development is more broad. You can venture into game programming through the course as well by self studies. I not too sure about computer science as i from engineering background. tongue.gif

In the end, it up to your own decision to make. I would suggest you go to MMU and discuss it with the staff there. I think they would more than willing to give you recommendation based upon your interest.

pardon for my rudeness but what is a university life? In engineering, i can tell you it not a bed of roses. There be exams, quiz, assignments, reports, presentations, experiments, labs, meeting with lecturers of which could be very hectic and difficult. In university especially private one, your studies is first and most important priority, clubs, event, enjoyment etc is second. I have seen many cases ppl are too involved in clubs and events till they neglect their studies and ended up repeating entire subject again. What i trying to say here is don't choose a university just because you want to join clubs and events.

Back to the question, yes there photography, anime and game clubs in mmu. There will be a few lan party event in mmu which people can join. Audiophile i not sure sweat.gif Go for foundation if you really interested in engineering as it the most direct route to an engineering degree in mmu. A-level if you want the freedom to go others if suddenly decided not go engineering fields

as for overseas studies, there are exchange programme with overseas university. Of course, you must be a good students for the faculty to choose you. My advice again is go to MMU or Taylors and discuss it with the staff there, learn what options are available to you.  smile.gif

none.taken.i do know that university life is not a bed of roses.if i want to live like that, why go to a universiy in the first place right?
i meant that i will experience more activities and not just atuck in a classroom all day doing nothing but reading books.
i'm the kind of person that would do better if i'm not inder pressure, thus i want to know if a level is a pressured system and does not give time for the students to relax a bit
also,i'm the kind of person that thinks that experience is more important than classroom study.that is why i want to know about events so that i can gain real life working with people
cool there are clubs about games/anime/photography clubs.that just added 1 point to mmu.
