go balut the intake snorkel with Uniqlo airsim, improvement

Im living it to dry, so just stay in for the night..
I wonder if insulating both the extractor and intake snorkel/air filter box would improve things. Insulate extractor = Reduce heat in engine bay. Insulate snorkel/filter box = keep it cool all the time. As we know cold intake is always preferable

I think, the air filter box need to be wrapped with a layer of cool gel pad
And it'll melt

but i thought insulation would trap the heat in the bay and on the snorkel...so it cools down slower...then u really banging on ur radiator to keep everything cool liao...
Insulation traps the heat in the extractor la. If it traps the heat in the engine bay, why do it in the first place? I'm talking about wrapping the extractor pipes and filter box lor. Not the hood.
But the purpose of the cooling gel is to absorb heat in the first place If u insulate the gel from absorbing the heat then what's the point of putting it there in the first place?
sounds interesting...what ive read so far is that the extractor headers are often wrapped to keep the rest of the exhaust cool. 3 layers it seems. 1 is paint, 2 is the fire retardant wrap and lastly the aluminum layer. it limits the heat to the header itself and is cooled via ur radiator fan. i.e. the heat is still in the bay mah... wrapping the the intakes i havent found anything yet...question is, what to wrap it with? teflon? where to get?
what about the intake manifold mod? think that"ll work?
There's someone selling thermal wrap for extractors here in LYN. Not cheap, though. As for the intakes, i dont know yet. The air that goes in must be cool in the first place, thats why we should start from the extractor as it releases the most heat in the bay.
Not sure man. Wait till someone experiments with it

recently during a cold start I notice my engine sounded like a mini lorry! AIFM kong ar?
Please tune down the volume before playing. As well as the IDLE RPM floating around. No air cond, no radio, no lights. It's from a cold start as well. How ar?
First. It's IAFM.
Maybe IAFM issue. Most probably one of the valves on the IAFM is fuccked. Go SC ask them check/claim for u.
2nd case, it's normal during a cold start to have slightly fluctuating RPM. As long it's not 100-200 RPM difference. After warming up it'll remain constant.
What should I say to them(SC) or how do I report this issue? Takkan I walk inside straight away I tell the SA "eh my AIFM kong de, go check?"
Well, that.
Or u can ask them what is the problem that caused the noise. They will usually tell u it's normal, then u can say "But i've got a few friends who have had their IAFM replaced and never had such problem ever since."
