hi bro,

me no pro and have no knowledge at all in ice..
recently i changed my car hu to oem china dvd/gps, for the sake of look.

i discovered, when i on the unit and while i did not play any music or video, it will have psssssss sound from my front speaker. are those sound called as noise?

if i mute my speaker, the psssssss sound gone. when i play music or video, the sound is not noticeable.

so, issit common? or setting, wiring or unit problem?

thanks!

just now i tested..
my bass was earlier +2 and treble +7

try to lowered down, still got sound but getting softer as the adjustment decrease.

the only way to have no sound is the default which is bass+0, treble +0.
either one +1 will also cause the sound to appear.

is this common? sad.gif

you could always bring to howie. you have the dough to spend on "not cheap players", why cant you just spend a bit more on labour charges? (in some cases, he also dun wan charge me for very minor stuff, feel bad la sweat.gif )

last i remembered, howie do this for a living, so why cant he troubleshoot your audio problem? and yes, he isnt always free, thats why you ask him, and by asking, i meant asking howie, not only asking around in forums.

think about this, if everything can be solved own self by following guides/advises and just DIY (or even installation), wouldnt people like howie run outta business? or for the sake of it, IT support/engineers/technicians, wouldnt THEY run outta business when there is uncle google around?

something that you may have take a lifetime and could never figure out, howie could probably solve it in a matter of minutes because of his experience, or just simply, he does this for a living, he HAS to be good or else he is out of business.

one random small example:
like a small cabin light problem i had that other day, who would've knew the stupid trunk lid has grounding points, where by time to time my cabin light would auto light up, and car cant arm alarm because it thinks some door (or trunk) is open when in reality it isnt.

took him a while to figure out until he remembered a similar problem with another car he did, applied the same solution and voila, it worked. just add a piece of cable to reinforce the worn out grounding point. if he hadn't done that car before, i think we can all be scratching our heads until the sun goes down and we may or may not figure it out.

so yea, if you got the time, he got the time, why not make an arrangement for him to take a look? not much to lose right?

And also amir is not staying in bukit jalil area. why keep insisting that he must go professional for help? u mean cannot diy and solve the problem by it self? must always go shop. This is why la.. malaysian dun have "real car enthusiast" all also just pay money and ask ppl fix.

- i am as chilled as i ever can be, wall o texts doesnt mean i am losing my temper or anything

- that is why i mentioned him to to make arrangements

- i sure as hell dont know where every LYN members stay, if he is very far from here, he could've speak up and im sure other sifus (or even myself) can make alternative recommendations

- and here is the thing:
i've never mentioned that DIY is bad/cannot fix

i only mentioned professionals exists for a reason

if you have some sort of weird/terminal illness, would you DIY and fix yourself? you go see a doctor right? THAT is what i am pointing out

if he didnt wish you get it fix, he can just say so, and that is the end of it. its his choice, not mine, and there are no reason for me to force him, nor has anything to gain or lose regardless of whatever decisions he make.

hope you understand the pointers i am trying to make here as i don't think i could get any clearer than this.

is it a problem having thick skin like pig and being brainless? i am so sorry that i am so inferior towards you and am a huge insult towards your presence. i did not know that it is a crime to seek for services and even items that i... paid for (at least all the time except once, though i dont mind paying as he did a great job as always)

not to mention that i do have a long term goal of having my future ICE done by him (whoops cat is out of the bag!)
and as of now this decision still stands unless howie decides to f*** up somewhere down this 2 ish years time (more like 1+ years left) which i hope that will not be the case.

nevertheless, you have a good day. smile.gif
