For those who wanna root their gnote directly on your whatever current version of firmware, can use this method from xda:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552435 Just flash the pre-rooted stock rom with PC Odin. Anyway make sure you read first before you proceed. I think this is the easiest way to root for now.
