You need to play with him at the latest stage he had.

A) You have option to put the game as private and only invite ppl u know into the game (at any time you or someone else is in the game).
B) You put game as public and EVERYONE can join if they're searching for the same act/quest you start the game.

any other option?

(A) & (B) can include starting a new game with a group of your friend(s) or just yourself

EDIT:
A game can have 1-4 players and can be changed anytime.

Example PUBLIC game:
If max 4 player in game alrd,
1 Player leave = 1 more player can join if they were searching or you invite.
It cannot be more than 4 player in a game (don't say PVP 3v3 = 6 players or more ya pls )
