for me... i kinda agree with the idea of removing the manual allocation of stat points... guys don't always think of changing something its always for the worse.. making the stat points automatically allocated free us up this time and help us focus more on other stuff like skills.

Well.. its a complete change in that aspect from what we had in D2, but what i am feeling is that Jay Wilson is a person who is not afraid to take a step to make things better. Didn't you guys felt that this new skills allocation feature is very similar to Guild Wars 1 ?

In Guild Wars.. every character is maxed at level 20 or so i think, and what differentiates each character is how they COMBO skills out into fix 8 slots.

I think D3 is moving in that direction. Having manually allocation of stats points will defeat the purpose of comboing skills build because everyone would just be buzy following online guides to put their stats for the best build and using skills which is only affected by the stats they place most of their points in.

In GW1... the online guides are full with experimental skill builds for every classes. and i feel thats wayy cooler. D3 is a fast placed game and judging from future additions like PVP.. they need balanced skill allocation with varying skill builds to be fun.

Oh dear... Touchy one aren't you?

Firstly, I'm well aware that Blizzard has their shortcomings. They've made games that I wasn't too happy about (Terran OP LOLOLOL). Diablo 3 isn't even out yet, and while I admit I do have high hopes for it, I can't very well 'like' something I don't yet own.

Respecting other people's opinion is one thing, but ranting away without actually understanding the issue? Here I am trying to provide more information, explaining the reasoning behind the changes made, and hopefully getting people to think a bit by asking questions. What do I get? I'm 'judging' and not 'being respectful'.

You want respect? Read up on the issue and understand the fundamental reasons behind the changes made, and then discuss it in a mature manner. Then you'll have my respect. Complaining about how things are 'casual' and 'gamers nowadays can't think' without actually providing any substance to the argument is what whiny lil kids do.

Look who's talking... I'm not the one who's getting all worked up over other people's opinion.

In your previous post, you are implying that people should have done this and that before they can have an opinion. Can't you just let others have their own opinion? There's no right or wrong when it comes to having an opinion.

I'm not asking you to respect anyone. Just respect the rights people have. I don't care if you don't have any respect for me. I am not interested in arguing with you. You have a great time.

and speaking of which.. i forsee this is also a good potential to expand the classes in future expansions!

blizzard might increase the level cap (maybe to 70) in future D3 expansion and at the same time add new skills to the list so we maybe try out different skill combinations to build up different kind of characters.

We can experiment with all the different builds without the need to RE-PLAY the whole character from level 1 again. Isn't that great??

well maybe there are still some guys who prefer to play level 1 to level 99 then transcendent to level 99 again just to make 1 build for 1 character type like in RAGNAROK... i see that as utter waste of time...

The new system basically let you have multiple builds without having to create a duplicate char for each build, quite good mar, working class no time to grind leh ><

But no more those funny builds like int Barb (for example) laugh.gif

I like the current direction of skill tree ( Although no longer a tree ) and auto stat distribution D3 is taking

About skills and abilities
Last time D2 was all about the right build and stats you must vigorously follow
D3 is now focuses more towards your playstyle, skillset and stratergy you're having... don't like it? then change around abit when theres no battle and wait for the cooldown

Sure theres no more manual putting points and seeing your damage increase... but its bland with 'put 10 points in to that skill just for damage increase and extra status effect'. With D3 now one skill can have up to 5 extra sub effects to choose from further customizing your build. And you can change on the fly without any hassle of visiting the npc other than skill change cooldown.

Sure D2 you can reset stats and skill but at certain condition that must be farmed...and you still have to reallocate 100 worth of points again if you're high level
D3 made it simpler

Then theres townportal and identification scrolls
So they remove this redundant but annoying quantity mechanic. So? Doesn't add any gameplay or element in the game other than go to this potion seller and make sure you always refill your tomes

Then theres the stats
in D2 IMO what people use for
Str - Just to equip armor/weapon and add a little damage
Dex - For hitrate and blockrate and equip certain items
Vit - Increase hp and life ( which is the only thing matter in hardcore )
Energy - Mana

And lets face it, most if not all builds either dump most of its points into Vit or Mana which in turn doesn't much offer anything unique to other builds
So why not auto level it and make items class specific without requiring stats but only levels

Then theres some minor complains about being too easy or just go in and hack everything
Well this is Act 1 after all
And then this is one of the Elite skills that rarely spawns

Champions just make one wall

And we have yet to see other minion skills

Every design change and turns they took is always within valid reason
Hell even they decided not to relate the male barbarian story to diablo 2 because then other classes feel left out which I can understand
Although I wish they retain Wizard's previous resource, Instability which adds interesting gameplay to the role of Glass Cannon but then again combat proves too interesting to divert your attention to other things... Wish they fine tune it more

Again, complaints like 'gamers nowadays are too casual' is far from a valid opinion. Its an empty statement, plain and simple. If I come across as being annoyed, that's because I am. Page after page of people ranting about a system they barely understand and can't put in the effort to research. Are you defending this behavior? Whatever happened to having an 'informed opinion'?

Sheesh.

I'm not saying its right or wrong. For every game out there, we're going to read about many different opinions about it. People can say what they feel about the game, we don't have to agree with everything that's said. Because at the end of the day, it doesn't really if others really think its a bad game or not as long as you know you'll enjoy it, you'll get it and play it.

Sometimes theres legit complains like "why car needs 5 wheels? 4 is more than enough"

and theres stupid complain like "why you revert the car back to 4 wheels? 5 wheels was fine on where it was and i was comfortable with it. Revert it back now"

Also Barb master race report in
Leap, whirlwind and bash is what imma roll with
