If internet connection is not stable, sure will run into problem playing this game. I still hope that Blizzard will scrap this crappy idea.

I agreed. There was 1 day that Unifi had problem with random packet lost. I don't like the idea of getting disconnected half way through and replay again.

There should be 2 separate mode, HDD save(offline) and online. If they need online authentication without constant online to play my singleplayer, I got no issue. It should be like steam cloud. I don't like my game get interrupted during Diablo fight man.

I believe that one of the reason for the online play is to make sure there is no item duping, character hacking and other kind of cheats going on. All the data will be saved in server side and all items will be coded.

Else the Auction House will be useless where all the hacked items will pop out and sold for real money.

The game also made for the gamers where internet is easily available and stable, such as US, EU, AU, NZ, S.Korea etc. Maybe only few countries like us still worrying frequent internet breakdown.

Maybe going back to the game mode where offline mode will be single player without access to AH. Maybe with extra LAN function?

But with most of the game contents generated from server side, maybe it is slightly difficult to pirate the game. Build own private server?

Don't see that happening, especially with digital platforms like Steam flourishing these days. Moreover, StarCraft II has been pretty smooth so far with similar practice. rolleyes.gif

I thought it would be similar to Diablo 2 where is singleplayer has saves in HDD where it has nothing to do with online, and multiplayer is where we save our chars in their server.

If it is similar to SC2, then I'm fine, as long I dont get disconnected when playing my Singleplayer and I have to replay again on that level.

You know AC2 and C&C4? You play SP, you disconnected, bye bye progress.

Should be one of their anti-piracy method.

Imagine LAST HIT on BOSS, DISCONNECTED or someone pull your internet cable off the plug.

Logic is to really make it hard for ahbengs pirates

Hopefully its not like ubishit drm where one slight dc and the game kicks you out without reconnection function

Thank god blizzard implement this. D2 item duping and hackers are damn frustrating at that time.

Last.... checkpoint....

*Killed diablo, dropped tier 10 item"
Me: WHEEE!!!
*click click*
Me: Aiks... no response?
*Network connection lost, please retry again*

If world of warcraft, no prob as you relog, you start where you left off and the corpse/item will be still there.

If this was online MP, I can understand as long as players are still in the game, you can still continue and get town portal from them. However as for singleplayer? Disconnected and restart from checkpoint? I rather have save game function if you get what I'm coming from.

SC2 even disconnected, you can still continue and save it. Only thing you don't get is the achievement.
