Date: 7 & 8 April 2012 (Saturday & Sunday) Time: 10AM to 6PM Location: Dewan Tun Canselor a.k.a Grandhall Multimedia University Cyberjaya Website: Gamefest.org (not fully up yet) Please visit our facebook for more detail. www.facebook.com/gamefest.mmu Description of the event: Gamefest is an annual event by Game Developers' Club, Multimedia University Cyberjaya. The main purpose of this event is to promote the game development industry in Malaysia, whilst trying to promote other events such as e-sports, console-gaming, board games and card games. Highlights of the programmes that will be conducted this year include: 1. Game Development Competition 2. E-Games Competition (DOTA and Starcraft 2) 3. Console Competition (Super Street Fighter 4) 4. LAN Party 5. Cosplay Competition 6. Board & Card Games (WoW TCG, Board games competition) 7. Cyber open 2012: Rubik's Cube competition Transportation Problem? By Public Transport ERL is our official transport partner and a discount rate up to 33% will be given to all passengers from any station to Putrajaya Central Station with a round trip ticket. A free shuttle bus will be provided from Putrajaya Central Station straight to MMU Cyberjaya. WE WILL HAVE OUR ROADSHOWS @ Major Uni and also Sungei Wang Please take note of the time and date to your nearest uni! Would you like to sell your game/project and possibly win a full cash prize? Now’s the time for you to shine! In collaboration with Cyberview, MyCore Center, Malaysian Gamer, Boomzap, and also IGDA, the Game Developers’ Club proudly presents to you, the Game Development competition. Winner of this competition will be sponsored and supported by Cyberview to continue to develop your presented project. Cyberview will provide whatever is necessary in order to help you to complete your idea/project. For example, if your project is an iOS app, then they will prepare an iPhone/iPod Touch for you to work with it. If you feel you lack of programming skills, they will prepare courses which you could attend to brush up your skills. For those who didn't manage to win the competition, you are allowed to join the winning team to form a new group attempt to complete the project if the winning team decided to do so. Prize : RM5000 for the winning team. Consolation prizes might be given but not confirmed yet. Read on below are the format and also the rules and regulation. I.Sentinel/Scourge side of the map or II.Draft order (1st/2nd pick) The side that losses in the coin toss can choose the latter. 2. Item sharing is allowed, as long as game permits it. I. Boosting, sharing items to build recipes is not allowed. 3. Game is required to be saved after first blood. After first blood, or 10 minutes passed, the game shall not be remade. Competitors are advised to save their game after every battle. 4. Disconnection issues: I. 10 to 20 minutes of gameplay – sides with 15 kills and above will be given the choice a. Taking default win b. Continue with the game without the disconnected hero II. 20 to 30 minutes of gameplay – sides with 20 kills and above will be given the choice a. Taking default win b. Continue with the game without the disconnected hero III. If save file is lost after 20 minutes of gameplay, marshal shall holds the power to pass verdict on whoever is the winner of the match, depending on: a. Each hero = 1 kill count b. Level 1 Tower = 2 kill count c. Level 2 Tower = 3 kill count d. Level 3 Tower = 4 kill count e. Level 4 Tower = 5 kill count f. Aegis = 1 kill count g. Barracks = 5 kill count Winner with the highest kill count will be the winner of the match. 5. Players are encouraged to bring and use their own gaming equipment. Organizers are not responsible for any damaged done to the equipments. 6. Abusing bugs to a team advantage in any way will cause the team to face disqualification. 7. Pausing the game unannounced may distract opponent’s concentration, and is therefore strictly forbidden. Player must inform the opposing team BEFORE pausing the game. Gamers are to be professional at all times, flaming/ racism/ disrespect to match admins or other players will not be tolerated. This act may cause them to be disqualified for the rest of the event.
