I'm using WIFI Files Explorer. upload and download very stable.
USB cable transfer really give me a big headache and sometime not even move, not to think about how fast is the transfer rate. maybe it's just happen on me sad.gif sad.gif

BTW, just a sharing via wireless. though router, 2.1MB/Sec; if direct connect from laptop to h/p, even faster: 2.8MB/Sec.

Apex Launcher should be smoothest. I'm not sure why some of you guys are saying it lags.

Trabuchet sucks.

Nova Launcher is good too.

I did use and compare each of them.
*
I also expected the same like you. but now, seem like it's really depend on which rom you're using. my testing result are:
1. stock launcher - smooth but boring
2. Trebuchet - smooth but buggy
3. Nova - smooth
4. Apex - not as smooth like 3 launchers above.

I'm from AOKP build 28, I think I will stay with Nova.

hey djlah...how u get internet through connecting cable to your Gnex...newbie here...
*
oh...Internet sharing and file transfer are different.
If you're looking for hotspot Tethering, just make your driver all working, after connect just enable "USB tethering" in setting, which is to enable your pc to surf Internet via ur phone 3G Internet.

if you're looking for how to get the phone using PC's broadband Internet share, no idea. never try before but wireless yes, may search "Virtual Router Manager" in thread here. already discussion before.

Issues to expect:
- Custom settings in contact probably don't work
- Mms AOKP customizations have not returned yet
- Other undiscovered bugs. Let us know!

I will stay back 1st... build 28 on Android 4.0.3 still running great for daily use.

Do you know that Apex Launcher had updated recently...?
It's to improve the overall performance!  nod.gif

What 4.0.4 OS ROM you're using?

AOKP Build 29(4.0.4) seems to be problematic.

Bugless Beast and CM9 are stable, but, lack of features.

Added on March 30, 2012, 2:39 pm

Just download the Apex Launcher from the Google Play Store and install it.
Go to Root Explorer or Root Browser.
Find the Apex Launcher APK file under data/app.
Cut it and paste it into system/app.
Then, set it's permissions. Done. Reboot.

I'm using Gummy now. IMO, Gummy better than AOKP. I don't mind just a little lesser of customization.

gummy rom made a huge remoedling to its ROM
was tempted to
but alas, wanted to wait for 4.0,4
Apex is better now with the updates?
*
previously I'm running Apex latest version in AOKP build 28, disappointed.
now, exact same version of Apex running in Gummy 4.0.4, awesome.

I do agree with that...
That's why I've not been with AOKP for a while... LOL.

AOKP is nice... but, just SLOWER than other ROMs.  doh.gif
If they polished the ROM well, I don't think other ROMs can compete with it.
*
actually this is second chance from me to give AOKP a try since I stop at build 18/19... no more AOKP for me anymore. btw the pink color AOKP avatar look gay....

Any Benefits from Gummy ROM 4.0.4?
*
In overall, from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4, you may refer the changelog post on last page back.
Gummy rom which is by Kejar31, just top up his standard stable customization since his build offered + bug fixed.
