chill with ICS... from past experience... Sony will roll out ICS once they've stabilise the firmware... you do not want to update to ICS and in the end ur wifi/phone function have bugs rite....

Based on experience with Arc... the battery last longer after few cycle of charging n discharging..

For those want to root their XPS need to follow this steps:

1) Unlock Bootloader
2) Flash Pre-rooted .IMG

If relock... warranty shouldn't be void but the DRM will lost forever

from my experience... only a stock apps call track id use the DRM and which I rarely used... but don't know if other apps use it... so far my ARC doesn't have any problem with all apps I'm using...

- OCed your phone by using custom kernel
- pre-rooted ur phone
- use custom ROM such as CM9 / MIUI / etc
- remove bloatware

If u lost drm... the apps won't function.. but don't know whether other music apps affected since I didnot try others apps.

yup.. saw ppl complaining xps battery drain fast... other phone with similar battery capacity also drain similar... current phone require a few cycle of charging and discharging before it last longer... haih...

Ppl complaining unremoval battery... its like only sony do that but other phone done that...

no xpendable storage... ppl complaining like sony only do that... but what about iphone and nexus series?? hiahs...

Yes sony always very slow one... for hardware they slow implementor thus they attract user on design n camera... for firmware... yes they slow but not as slow as moto/htc & the firmware update slow but stable not like samseng... heard they even have update for their tablet but in the end the wifi broken... need to wait another update...

Based on Arc xperience... they deliver their promises:
- provide unlocked bootloader
- deliver scheduled updates
- no major bug
- deep integration in FB

If u have frequent accidental drops in the past... better get Active or Defy... I've mention frequent drops didn't I?

normal texting, calls, light surf & light gaming... should enuf for a day...

Not sure fo ics... but so far for sony/se they don't have major issue after updates release... only cough... samseng release with broken wifi on their tablet cough...

for heating issue... when SE release ARC a lot of user complaining... but there's no complaint on brick ARC due to the heat? if don't want heat get other phone brand... it's not a big deal... thats y getting ORI is important... at least harware failure... u send back to Sony... within the warranty period... n probably you've changed to a new phone 1-2 years later... if you the type using the same phone long enuf... get other brand that u not fealing heat at all thus u felt secure...

yup.. normaly use... there won't be the heat... I believe they expecting to play shadowgun & web browing 2-3hrs... without feel the heat...

It's been mentioned previously in this thread... that Sony might follow like SE when releasing ARC with lots of freebies.... just this... we hope they give the smart wireless headset (which don't think so due to it's also have a dedicated mp3 player which a selling point for sony to gain xtra money from consumer)

Only Digi have it today? Hopefully Celcom have it and with demo unit as well... so I could go to Celcom Pavilion to play around with demo... if they have one
