Drop Eye Syndrome (DE)

reason for DE is still unknown..
But related causes :-
- genetics
- food
- lighting
- tank height (low chances)
- stress

treatment :-
- surgery (result of how the eyes will looks like after surgery depends on the surgeon skill)
- transfer to pond or fiber tank (50 50 success rate, skill required)

comm tank? If comm tank could due to fight..

Any sign of blindness??

It is permanent or only happens at times?

only one power head filter for 10 pieces of aro?

How often u do water change bro?

erm..according to ur picture..it looks DE to me..i've seen some even much more slanted concave that this one..

What kinda lights do u use bro? Duration of the lights on?
And what do u feed them?

tank temperature maintain 34..put salt at 1liter of water with 3g of salt..

Ur only last solution if u said floating..

Gasping for air? It floated with the back at the surface, and can't swim down?

Or totally over turned?

do not touch the aro..can it balance anot?

Cant confirm if it is bloated anot..if yes, then :-
- removes all air bubble,
- minimize water flow..
- heater 34 celcius
- salt
- no feeding
- do not or dun even try to touch ur aro..let it rest..
- turn off lights

for now no need water change until after 2weeks..no feeding = low ammonia = low nitrates..

No need medicine..most important now is heater..

bloated is cause of the aro inhaled excessive air when it is nervous..mostly happen during transfer and higher chances after feeding..

So if we wanna buy aro, make sure that aro wasnt fed for a day or two so that chances of bloated is very low during bagging..

And also happens after feeding our aro, some will disturb the aro or grab it, this is cause the fish to panic, nervous hence they will breath faster and inhale excessive air..

there is a big differences in btwn tanning a golden arowana and wtt a golden aro..

I doubt if there is any LFS out there could explain this and direct u to use which light is much proper for what usage and will bring what kinda outcome..

I dont get to explain to u here, unless i got the product in hand..and explainin in words is a pain the ass..hehe..

Wait till when i open up my LFS, then u come visit me.. *wink*

no problem bro..

Be sure to :
- maintain temperature at 34 (most important)
- no air bubble (important)
- low power water pump shoot away from aro
- no feeding until that aro recovered, continue without feeding for another 2weeks
- salt at 1liter of water with 1gram of salt.
- off lights
- do not frighten ur aro, do not touch it.
