Jz like wmkr said,  keep it simple, no need use blackwater..old birds here do not suggest anyone to play with blackwater or ph up or ph down or any chemical that will trigger the water hardness or pH level of the water..jz do at least once WC a week..and ur aro should be healthy as it grow..playing with all these blackwater, etc etc water chemical thing a, is like treating a human with testestorone and estrogen from time to time..imagine this week i inject high dosage of testestorone to u, u suddenly become damn man, voice rough, wuah super man..then next week, i inject lotsa estrogen into u, u sudden become pondan..suffer u know bro..

So ur aro same thing..keep it simple..dun use blackwater..weekly water change..ur aro adapt to the weekly water change routine..then it will be healthy as it grow

Thats what i thought as well..n after thinking bout it overnight..i think d best solurion is to buy a canister pump..which i did jz nw..3lvel of filtering plus uv..i hv setup d pump..wat impress me is dat its so quiet..but wat scare me n worry me is dat d water look like its barely move..will it clean d water or not..need to check again tmorrow..i hv a question here..i heard to much of bio ring n coral will affect aqua ph lvel..1 lvel i place carbon+white  filter..1lvel is bioring +white filter..last lvel is coral +white filter..i hv check the ph lvel n its 6.5..n my aro keep on openibg the mouth n closing..a bit worried though..any advice sifu..

Added on April 2, 2012, 6:35 amAnother casualities..my 2nd aro died..i bought a canister pump to avoid same thing but it died as well..not sure why but hv to do with the new filter..i felt like im at the bottom at the moment..i guess i'll leave the interest for a while n just rare small fish 1st..hv lost few thousand in a short period of time..2nd aro is mucj more dissapointing..3 days n its gone..kinda dissapointed knowing that d 2nd aro colour is nice..

in canister?in that case i'll buy some soon..hehe 

MGBB..i already setup my canister so im not going to touch it for very long time..but my new tank didnt decide what to use as media yet..bought ac..aqua clay and mineral stone..i believe should be sufficient but maybe i wont use the ac..see la how it goes..
