Can, no problem. But dont keep for too long lar. Usually my MP will be kept max for 1 week only.
For your aro's size now, de-shell it first then cut into small pieces for easy swallow..

Searching for opinion here.
im thinking to put sand bottom of arowana tank so it look more natural. but survey wrote that bare bottom much easy. my only concern, if barebottom the tank looks like aquarium shop.

any suggestion?

thanks in advance.

It's totally up to your preference bro. If you would like to make it more natural like a river wildlife setup with other fishes, then you may proceed to put the sand bed and some woods.

For easy maintenance, go for bare tank. Else, you'll be having backache for cleaning the sand bed as dirt and waste are tend to be collected in the sand.

Not to mention it may increase ammonia and nitrate levels too, unless u get some plants to neutralize it

Wont really increase any ammonia or nitrite or nitrate level..ammonia, nitrite or nitrate is diluted in the water..

In the sand bed, the fish waste will be trapped there..what worse is if the sand is being disturb, murky water, fungus maybe from left over food, parasites etc..

At the same time, beneficial bacteria do as well grow in the sand bed..so ammonia will totally be breakdown into nitrite and into nitrate..

So the worse part of the bedding and decorations is lotsa dirty stuff will be trapped there without us know..especially left over food that will causes lotsa fungus and parasite to grow..

Hi good day to everybody.

Just wana finish reading 42 pages from this thread coz I am planning to get 1 aro as a gift for somebody and maybe 1 for myself.

I wana ask this question for a long time.

Why the arowana farms all located in Bukit Merah?
Why not other states?

Thanks.

There is other places..quite alot actually..

Just that bukit merah more well known due to the number of farm there exceeded 100 farms.. and the water there is very suitable for arowana breeding..black water river..

Just to name one famous farm that is not in bukit merah..xian leng..their farm in johor..
