is more like cotton...thin thin layer of cotton...i din touch it so i don know is slimmy or not lol...it looks as if our hand soak in water for few hours...turn white white abit...similar to that... lol...sorry for my describing skills....i know i suck

chill bro..okay, confirm to be fungus..no big deal..

This is what u shuld do :-
- use external parasite medicine (broad spectrum), do not overdose, BeFuran is some of the good brands, but expensive..
- temperature if possible maintain 34, 31-34.
- no feeding for time being
- use salt at 1liter of water with 1gram of salt (can overdose, 1liter = 1gram is just basic rule of thumb)
- before u add in medicine, do a 30% water change


okay, if possible provide me with readings of ammonia and nitrite..

Mind describing your type of filteration and how often do u do water changes?

1st of all thanks for the guide...i will visit the LFS today and see i can find the broad spectrum or not... thanks bro...

- temperature now is 32-34 ( morning/night where i adjust it yesterday )

- i found out yesterday morning..so i dare not feed yesterday night till this morning ( his normal diet is mealworms and sometimes feeder fish )

- i've added salt last night...and this morning the white patches gone a little..but still there...hopefully it will be gone tonight *finger crossed*\

- i do WC every twice a week since the tank is most likely grow algae ( using 4pcs of T5 light )...which i think you guys called it algae bloom...20% each time..salts add in alternately, like 1st WC add salt...2nd WC dont add salt...3rd WC add salt so on ....

- my arowana is actually living in 3.5ft tank with OHF ( my old tank setup )..and 3 layers of wool ...1st layer white..2nd layer blue and last layer black...then to bio rings and a little corals...and finally back to the tank.. water looks clear but theres a tiny air bubbles when the water return back to the tank..shouldnt be a problem right? ( i know this setup is not complete.....YET...i need to wait for my 6footer with sump only i can complete it )

- i need to get the test kit ASAP in order to read the ammonia and nitrite lol..

ps : my "free" 6ft tank is from ipoh..and my dad is arranging people to go collect from there...not sure when only will arrive zzzz. my fish now is 8-9inch long...and i know the bigger space is better lol...

Try to do 30% water change during ur regular wc..

No feeding for now till recovered..

And once recovered, lower the temperature to 28 -30..

And u do wc is twice a week or every two week once?

Since ure using so many lights for wtt ur gold arowana i assume, UV lights is mandatory bro..

i do WC twice A week and yeai stop feeding since yesterday.....i'll get the UV light installed in the sump tank once i get my tank but for the time being i just need to do twice 30% WC
a week and pay attention on how much i feed...previously my tank go GREEN..literally GREEN...in 2 days...scare the hell out of me lol... anyway..i will follow your instructions and see how it goes for the next few days...thanks a million bro

To do tanning for mgbb how many light is required for best result..i thought 1 high intensity is sufficient..

I doubt if there is any LFS out there could explain this and direct u to use which light is much proper for what usage and will bring what kinda outcome..

I dont get to explain to u here, unless i got the product in hand..and explainin in words is a pain the ass..hehe..

Be sure to :
- maintain temperature at 34 (most important)
- no air bubble (important)
- low power water pump shoot away from aro
- no feeding until that aro recovered, continue without feeding for another 2weeks
- salt at 1liter of water with 1gram of salt.
- off lights
- do not frighten ur aro, do not touch it.

The lfs advice me to just turn it on 24 hour..but then no proper explaination..i saw dome breeder use 2..n our friend here use 4..am i missing anything here?

Added on April 6, 2012, 3:29 pmbloated case, the warmer the water, the easier for em to recover and some critical case when the aro edi over turn, keeping at 35celcius some manage to survive..and recover from severe bloated..
If u wanna keep at 35 celcius, gotta monitor constantly, coz at 37 - 38 u aro will starts to get burn..35 - 36 maximum only 3days..

Hmmm..my arowana today seems abit quiet...he stays at the lower level of the tank....normally he swims on top actively...and i saw him flipping the fin hard once in a while....is this normal sign for stress? ?

I believe that is a sign of stress..but hv to monitor as that is a sign of abnomality..

how is the fungus? It is gone?

And at the bottom with the pectoral fin open or pectoral fin close?

Any sign of ur aro trying to scratch on wall or anything?
