Yea..bad thing about any turtle is they excrete high amount of bioload..
Nah, so far he never did, even when i hold and move him into container when moving.

Bro, this eve i noticed a new issue. Looks like my aro scales got different, could it be rotten scales?

Hmm..any clearer pics?

Could be rotten scales, infection, parasite or jz drop scale..

Not clear enug..
Sorry i just used phone camera, very difficult to take still image cuz fish keeps moving as i come closer.

I think i'm gonna set a different tank for the turtle. Easier for me to control water parameters. Going out now for that. Hope will find something good.

In malaysia..grading are as below..
Grading wise..put aside pure breed..this is how the grading works..
Hb and rtg is the same..
Then shb is the same as hbrtg(singpore)..
Crossback.
Then gold head.

While in singapore,
Rtg
Hbrtg/ hb
Xback
Gh..

Grading in singpore and malaysia is different
Thanks bro.. really hard to classify aros, esp when it comes to a noob like me.. laugh.gif

Even in arofanatics forum they get confused sometimes..

Yeah, been thinking of black wallpaper too.

Since indon golden aro is know as rtg..so hbrtg should be the same as shb..
U have to understand that arofanatics is singapore based forum..so their grading is slightly different than ours here..

And to proven my claims..i have already discuss with a singaporeans friends..u might see him posting alot on arofanatics..username ali..he probably not as active as he use to be due to biz..
Thanks, now i know why he claimed so..

Bro, hope ure doing well with Aquatic Solutions. Been visiting ur FB link now and again, since im planning to construct a pond soon.

oww ic thanks for the info!
9'' can still WTT? hmm.gif

Personally, i'd just go for water maintainance. WTT is really a pain, unless u already have a white tank and space. Status : Still working on background and slate base.. So much yet to do sweat.gif

Dont forget to update thumbup.gif

I tried black wallpaper on my tank. Overall, it gives darker appearance but i think its okay, since fishes feel secure in dark place after all.

Hi all, im new & I'm in the midst of hunting my 1st aro. Any GH keeper here? Went to XL y'day saw one GH very nice, tagged at 7k plus. Book by one enthusiast. Anyway XL is not like what I expected, typical LFS with a few mature aro & alot of stingray for sale. Anyway I don't see anyone keeping stingray with their aro's here. Anyway will stick around more to learn, pretty impressive & informative forum.
Hi Jenn77. My fren keeps several XBs with two stingrays in his 6 footer comm. He offers one for me but i dont wanna consider any fish addition for now, let alone something i never tried before. So i'll stick with Aro & bichirs for now.

About ur hunt, u plan to get a GH straightaway? I know the price is very affordable now as ppl sell Aros almost everywhere, but i think thats too hasty an approach. Many aro keepers (including me) start with cheaper ones 1st, not that because we couldnt afford better choices, but to make things easier if something bad happens. For me, -and maybe for me alone- pet keeping is not entirely about the price, beauty, or types, but the most important is the spiritual bond. Many has started this hobby with sparkling interest, but soon abandoned their fish and even the whole tank after a few months.

But if u really think its in u, then go for it. If anything u wanna know, dont hesitate to ask around and learn. I still consider myself a noob, even this is my 4th aro. Yes i'm still learning around, both in reality and on net. Sifus here would be more than ready to help with information.

Dont forget to update ur hunt. Good luck bro biggrin.gif

Just curios, won't the tile under the tank confuse your aro? Also encourage DE? Any reason why you put the tiles pattern below the tank?
For the bichirs, cuz i have the feeling they dislike slippery glass surface on the tank base. And also, my tank wasnt painted in the bottom, so if i keep it bare based, all the fishes see is white and self-reflections, which is not good for their coloration. I tried brown tiles before that (as in picture below), and my Endi turns pale just after one night.

user posted image

I dunno if the change may encourage DE. From my observation, my aro doesnt give much attention to the base. He just swims mostly in the upper part of the tank. The only time he goes deeper in the bottom is when he feels insecure, like many ppl approach the tank wall, etc.

Thanks anyway, i should check their conditions from time to time icon_rolleyes.gif

Wondering, does LFS sells dead crickets? LOL I know it's funny, but I am not very keen holding live insects, so am wondering if there are dead crickets sold in the LFS?
I think exo terra has this kind of product, which usually meant for geckos / lizards (see picture). But i dont think aros love dead foods, as in most cases including mine.

Why do u want dead cricket?
It is damn smelly..try to train ur aro to take mp..the best food for them..
The dried shrimp is good for them..but when ur aro turns adult,
Ure gonna need alot to keep em full..the reason why canned dried shrimp is good coz the shrimp is in whole..meat and shell..the meat is good source of protein as well as carotenoid(not sure if i got the spelling right) good for colouration..and the shell is source of carotene and a few more things(forggoten, been years back when i did my homework back then) for the scales as well as colourations..
Yeah how i wish my aro will take MP as well.. He refused dried shrimp too.

QUOTE(hdd-corrupted @ Nov 20 2012, 11:56 AM)
bro from ur facebook u got sell the lipan?
If u got sell, i wana try some on my aro, seriously. I heard some LFS in perak got sell frozen lipan, but dunno true or not..

LOL thanks for the replies about crickets.
Haha I am a bit phobia to those creepy crawlies, that's why I am asking whether there are the dead crickets for sale, lol.
Haha i know many ppl got entomophobia. Me too i was scared of insects and crawly things before. But not after playing around with them. Now i can hold live crickets, superworms and home lizards bare-handedly tongue.gif

Fear is to overcome bro, not an excuse. Or so i told my wife tongue.gif

I saw a few xbbbmg at a new LFS at Putra Heights selling fr a  very good price! The owner kept it together in a huge 8 footer with a few indo super reds.  Anyone interested to drop by please PM me, would like to go there kepoh again.
Would really like to go if i live around Klang Valley. Hows their pricing like, for an xbbbmg? Choosing from a comm batch can be beneficial, as u can see & compare which is superior, good or bad..
