I found materials from POS Malaysia website about Pos Daftar but I still need some clarifications. I have only posted ONCE in my life so I'd really appreciate it if anyone can dumb it down for me, as if you're talking to an eight-year-old. blush.gif Thanks!

Yes or No?:

1) Pos daftar is just normal mail but with track & trace service.

2) The pos daftar sticker costs RM2.20 for domestic destinations.

3) If my item weighs more than 20g I will have to affix more stamps on my package.

4) My total postage fee = general mailing fees + RM2.20 (for pos daftar sticker).

5) Clothing items can be categorised as non-standard document mail (POS product menu). If my items weigh 400g, the total fee would be RM4.20 [RM2.00 for Non-Standard Document (250g - 500g) + RM2.20 for Pos Daftar sticker].

6) It is not necessary to use a standard store-bought envelope to wrap my package.

7) It is safe to put clothing items in a plastic package then wrap it in magazine paper and cellotape it.

8) Standard delivery for pos daftar is 3 to 5 days.

Do provide me more info if you have any. Many thanks! smile.gif

Added on March 8, 2012, 12:01 pmFor clothing, u should get the post express box (for document only but u can slip cloths should no prob)...
Its cheaper than post laju, and faster than post daftar

Phew! Really had trouble figuring out which category to post the items. Now I know more options to post items. Thanks for your tips! biggrin.gif

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Yes
4) Yes
5) It depends, if your parcel is large, then they might charge according to volumetric weight instead, which ever higher.
6) Yes, as long the topmost layer is paper, as you'll need to stick the stamps on
7) Err, I don't think you should use magazine paper. Use plain paper instead. Even normal A4 paper taped together is fine
8) Now, yes, but can be anytime from next working day to 2 weeks or more. Depends on your luck.

About the Pos Ekspres bit that Wacky-angel referred to, I suggest you don't use that option, as they have been quite strict since Pos Laju took over the delivery of Pos Ekspres items and tend to bounce the item back to sender if they are fairly sure it's not documents. Also, with Pos Ekspres, although it's trackable, there's no need for the recipient to sign it so it's like normal mail but just faster and hence, not so safe, especially if the recipient stays in apartment/shared home areas.

My suggestion is to stick to Registered Post and Pos Laju only.
