Hi,i've been following this thread since V1, there are few doubts i would like to seek answer from honorable experienced master/sifus in OnG field,

1. I'm very much into flow assurance (FA). However, most of the companies wanted experienced flow assurance engineer. People i met from Intecsea started with graduate process engineer in RWP before becoming exp FA eng. Any chances i might skip the grad process engineer and get started as graduate FA engineer ?. Currently I'm working in one of the OnG operator (downstream) as process engineer with Chemical Engineering background.

2. Being an FA engineer, i understand that i need to well versed in several FA software such as OLGA, Pipesim, PVTsim and so on. Besides those mentioned software, any specific knowledge/ experience i should know about to become an competent FA engineer? I'm in a consideration to take Master in Petroleum Engineering at UTP. Does that Master paper able to help me to increase value in the future? to become an exp/competent FA engineer?

would appreciate any feedback from lowyat forumners....

1. 2 in 1.. Process Engineer + FA eng
2. I'm not sure bout Master degree paper value, but competent in several FA software with certificate will help..  icon_rolleyes.gif

1. My current job is more to the protecting/ maintaining companies assets. it's quite far from process design like what Process Engineer doing in consultant company. My concern is once i make a move to FA (if i'm fortunate enough), i might lost the bargain power in terms of pay grade as those yrs of working exp had nth to do with FA.

2. I can do sth about FA software with cert by attending training courses at my own expenses, but how about well versed in software but no exp in FA jobs ? will that affect my value?

Sorry to interrupt guys. I want to apply for a position in an oil & gas company. Do you guys put your photo in your resume or is it advisable not to?
Thanks.

Normally ppl don't put photo unless request by HR. However, if you're very Handsome/Pretty, it would help in terms of First Impression.

Is OnG only find for 3.5 and above in term of CGPA?
*
CGPA is vital in getting you an interview, but not a sure thing to get the job. There are still many ways to get an interview with OnG companies such as Luck, Networking, company policies, whether they decided to do mass hiring/walk in interview/hire certain job positions. If you have a high CGPA but u din make urself presentable during interview, you're out of the game also. i would say while doing job hunting in OnG, sharpening your interview skills is super important.just sharing a case studies : i got a CGPA 3.9 friend interviewed with petronas recently but failed at role playing session, another one second upper passed SI and get a job in melaka refinery.

Agree. My definition of Sin City is sth related to high Crime rate and from the way i see, KL and JB is the top 2.

Fair enough. But excessive drinking outlets and countless non-locals (not from town) pouring in day in day out partying and whoring etc would make a place be regarded as a sin city lol.
Lol. I think you've got the term 'sincity' all wrong.
*
Yea, think i got it all wrong dy.
