I am a fresh grade from utm with pet. eng. deg. just received an offer from MNC oil and gas for assistant planner position. I in doubt will this job deviate/bias from what I learned and do this job title more on management?

What is the career prospect of being a planner? If I take this job means have to say bye bye to technical knowledge and move to management skills? My career goal is to become a process design engineer. Am worrying now if i work as planner now can shift to process design department which is more on technical knowledge?

Appreciate if any could clear my doubt. Thanks.
