You will prolly do conceptual design, front-end engineering design or detailed engineering. There will be list of deliverables (which are required drawings/datasheet/documents/etc) for you to prepare based on self-calculation and designs, and also supports from vendors/suppliers. Common tools are ETAP or EDSA for simulation purposes. You will be exposed to structured training by your Lead or Senior. For the first 2 years, most prolly you will only have to prepare or compile datasheet, maybe.

Starting salary for fresh grads, not sure. My junior joined RWP for RM2,500/mth.
It depends. Contract staffs will not necessarily absorb into permanent staffs, and vise-versa. It depends on the projects and requirements. Usually, contract staffs will be paid higher than permanent staffs because contract staffs will not entitled to every single benefits that the company offers to the permanent staffs. Make sure to read the contract documents properly. I know that there are many companies use this "contract positions" to get cheap labours.

i sure hope he'll be permanent staff later on. or else, it's a waste as we have to move from puchong to kl.

im new and a freshie in O&G. i think most people live further than puchong.
contract, as most are. Not sure exactly how many are absorbed, but I've heard of one.
Bonus @ completion of successful project (thats what i heard). Increment = performance based.
*
owh, so memang ada bonus n increment though contract.
that's a relief!
thanx for the info.

it is all depends and go back to his "contract offer letter" terms and conditions. pls do not presume the answers you getting here are "confirm" sure have.  biggrin.gif

all the info you are getting here FYI only. no matter how still go back to read carefully his "contract offer letter". it is the discretion of the top management/in-charge director/manager of the particular project capex/opex "give' or "no" on the benefits, at the end of the project within timeline, etc.
*
in that case, nothing stated regarding bonus n increment in the offer letter.
he had already give 2 mths notice to his current company.
owh well, let's just hope for the best then.

Contract position/direct hire for major O&G Co. sometimes do offer bonus, often at Co. discretion. However, the best trick is to renegotiate the term offer as per contract.

Sometimes the word 'bonus at Co. discretion' is very tricky, which is sometimes having no bonus at all. Happen with some of direct hire personnel with Petronas & Shell, but if your husband manage to convince the Co. 'modify' the contract term specifying the bonus (2-4 month probably reasonable) that would be good enough. I personally knowing some personnels at JX Nippon with contract/direct hire position having a specified contractual bonus.

Remember, kalau employment contract tu cakap 'bonus at Co. discretion' for contract/direct hire position, re-nego. Else, sakit wor hehehe  laugh.gif

I don't think you will survive night life at KB hahahaha. Used to work there last time. Probably the best is commute Miri-KB every weekday, asal tahan jak bangun awal pagi and you must reach Sg Tujuh checkpoint no later than 0600am. Else, que panjang wooo early at the morning.

Does your company provide elaun for tolls/transportation/fuel?
*
no mentioning of bonus at all in the contract.
but never mind, let's just wait n see what happens after this.haha
will definitely inform my husband all the infos i got here!!
