Goodday everyone,

I'm from civil engineering background and I will be graduating in 2 months time. Studying Petroleum engineering was my dream in high school but somehow I end up in civil though

I have a few questions to ask.

1. What are the best career path for fresh grad like me who would like to venture into o&g? from what I read here, we should work in consultancy first e.g. technip, ranhill to gain experience? how about applying to clients such as petronas? the pay at consultants will be lower right?

2. How about companies that do ships conversions to FPSO, build oilrigs such as MMHE or KEPPEL singapore? Are they considered o&g?? Are those options good since I'm from structural background? I'm planning to apply for Keppel graduate engineer program. How about Jurong shipyard and Sembawang? Working in Sg and O&G are my goals since most of my classmates got a job there and we are just across the strait.

Thanks. biggrin.gif I'll ask again if I have any qualms. btw, I'm having an interview with Murphy Oil tmr...I'm so nervous they'll ask technical stuffs about crude oil or offshore platforms...I only have a little idea about them since I'm from Civil Engineering. not much of people in my batch work for o&g though..mostly in construction..Thanks

Hello everyone, I'll be attending Murphy Oil full day interview at petronas twin towers tomorrow. I'm still in my final year of studies in Civil Engineering...

Do you have any tips or website that you can recommend me to read on further?? and also tips on full -day interview preparation??

Sorry as this is my first full-day "serious" interview, others were only 10 to 20 minutes short interview that I attended in campus. smile.gif I've come this far and I hope I can get through smile.gif.. Thanks in advance!
