Let me put things into perspective,as a fresh grad working in the field, you can earn on average 15k/month with one of the big services company. This doesn't includes all the perks like free accomodation,etc... a fresh grad working in consultancy probably earn around 3k-4k/month.The pay for field engineer will also increase based on your experience,a senior field engineer with 2-3 years experience easily rakes in 20 to 25k/month on average.

Thanks bro, clear view for me. Need ur advise bro, I'm currently tech eng,co that fabricate pv,he,column, skid etc. My vision to be field engineer. So I need to gain experience as tech eng (office job) 2 3 years or just aply position related to this job (hands on)? Thanks

You don't need to gain any job experience in the office to secure a position as a field engineer in oil and gas.In reality, all of the field engineer will go to training school where they will be trained to run specific tools depending on your segment, after that you will also have on job training. So in a sense you don't need any previous experience,to tell you the truth they even prefer fresh grad which is easier to mold.

Oh.. Seem no chance since my result quite bad to apply. Anyway thanks bro for the good points.

As long as your cgpa is above 2.5,i think it is still possible, but still you have a chance to work as a field engineer in other small service company and with that experience you can apply to the big three, slb, baker and hal.

The big 3 offer competitive remuneration. The more days you work on the field the more you will earn.
Schlumberger is the top dog, pays good money but you will be owned by them, not many last beyond 3 years especially on wireline.
That being said this role is not for everyone which explain their recruitment process.

Hi All.. Can anyone here advice on the scope of work for the position "business planning & development" within petronas carigali? Furthermore what basic salary should i be expecting? No prior OnG experience, but with at least 5 yrs working experience as business development in a MnC. Current gross salary + allowance about 7k.Thanks in advance.

i think with 5 years experience, you could probably get 8K in petronas, but I can't confirm this as I'm not working with them.
