hi guys, the above is some of the job scope of a general maintenance technician.any advice on the above as to what the person will be doing?in my view(from what i know a bit here and there), the technician will be doing some machine shop tasks, keeping machineries running smooth, alike to the buildings and structures.(does this include oil rigs, refinery, oil/gas terminals, vessels??) performing the ever important breakdown, pre-emptive maintenance jobs and such.and yes this position is from one of the companies in ong. anyone can shed further light? hmm.gif

Guys, I’m currently trying to switch my career now into o&g field. I only have working experience around 10 month, still a fresh graduates. I already submit and send some resume to some big company like Sapura or Kencana but no response. Thinking of trying to join small o&g company, anyone know one? Or advise?

Probably because ur degree (mechatronic) is like in the middle. let say they want to hire u, they should put u in E&I (Electrical/Instrumentation) or Mechanical? y dun they just hire someone with pure E/I/Mech which is more secure. but anyway u still can apply to be in production or project dept. laugh.gif

U right. I think the same. wacko.gif Will keep your suggestion in mind. But, urgh it’s difficult to get a start in o&g field.
Or my current job is cursed. icon_question.gif

QUOTE(azraeil @ Mar 11 2012, 08:51 PM)
For volume calculation, you do 3 things

1. Proved reserves/in place, you just calculate the volume in the block with the well data
2. Proved + Probable - Both blocks is calculated
3. Proved + Probable + Possible - Homogenous reservoirs covering all blocks

As for the GR, you need to see how the data coverage of the well (i.e 1500 - 1600) corresponds to the reservoir section based on the maps. I have a suspicion that the GR covers the reservoir section so it should be okay. If it does not cover the reservoir section, then you can go to your professor and say F**k you in his face. He obviously have no frakkin clue about doing an FDP then.

I think, what the prof or industry rep wants to see is how you handle this situation with the limited data that they gave you. There will be time when you do a data review where you will only have really limited data. I have a strong suspicion that they want to hear how you quantify and assess the risks and uncertainty in developing the field.

It is always easy to do a project based on lots of data, the challenge in the industry is coming up with plans (which has taken into account the risks and uncertainty) when you don't have the luxury of those datasets.

Your call.

we've discussed with our lecturer regarding on this issue and after some arguments and thoughts (after reminding him several times on the high risk and uncertainties in our case with the very limited data given for 1 hour ++), we've agreed to change our field biggrin.gif

anyway thanks mr. azraeil for your consultation. i'll send u some wang pos later on ok? hehe

owh, may i ask for ur opinion in case i got some questions regarding on the new field? this time, the data is more than enough for us to work with.

Yaaa....kind of true. 3 months in nothing. But being at home doing nothing is so frustrated. Some say better offer comes late. So I really hope a better one is coming for me.

I suggest that you apply to SLB within the Engineering, Manufacturing and Sustaining team. SLB Western Gecko recently opened a new product centre in Penang and I knew at one point they were looking for ppl with mechanical/electronics background. Mechatronics would just suit them well smile.gif

No problem, ask away. I was involved in the review of all the milestones (MR1 to MR4) between Petronas and all the operators for their FDP so I'm quite well verse with the process.
