If the motor oil level is above "F", how will it affect the engine?

My receipt states that I am to return for servicing at 5000km but my car display says 10000km.... Which is which? Sorry for asking -- just want to be careful in case they say my warranty void.

Just my suggestion on things to add to first page besides the car checklist, mods, etc. is "what to expect on first service". Will be useful for new Inspira owners who are not familiar with the MIVEC engine and Proton "ways" of doing things....

those optional things they should ask 1st...

I don't even know if they actually changed the things or just simply add into the bill.

Your warranty book states every 10k or 6 months. Follow that.

And u kau kau kena con by ur service center already for buying all those extra stuff
*
Kena con RM100 I don't mind as long as my car engine and warranty not compromised. What I am afraid of is they NEVER change anything and by the time I return for 10000 km service, the engine KONG liau.... Heartache!

Thanks for enlightening me. Still much more to learn about taking care of this car. Maintenance is one thing, exterior is another. And then the mods...

And when I ask about activating the autolock function, he replied "we don't do mod here, will void warranty!" not sure if he understood what I meant by autolock... Really disappointing.

haiya... i wash my car 1-2 weeks once. thanks to meguiars products. Not so dirty. Never ever use snow wash. u wanna know why?
*
I use regular car shampoo but meguairs wax. However I find this small small specks or grit on my car, especially near the bottom part of the doors which wont come off after washing. What do you recommend?

because they use detergent. soap powder. Very bad for your car. Scratch and eat up ur wax. Never ever let people simply wash ur car.
*
Do you wash the door and boot jambs? Very hard to reach and tiny space but dirty. Wont come off with car shampoo also. Although cant see from outside but when I open the boot, it is obvious.

if you have the energy and passion for detailing, use claybar on your car, the grit and tar will come off, and feel the smoothness afterwards..brilliant.. thumbup.gif
*
I have given claybar a long thought... Maybe it's time I get it. So far I get away with a mild polish to remove these grit/stains/grit but some are really stubborn. After polish, I wax the whole car -- outside only. Not sure if necessary to do the door jambs? What about the wheel areas -- lots of road dirt get splashed around the bumpers and bodykit. Also do you notice that dirt tend to smear along the sides near the head lamps after a drive on a muddy road?

Cool, who can provide the info?
Real men use Android. cIpad is for ghey.
*
For starters: 1st service i.e. 1000 km is labelled as a "minor service". Things expected to be changed are
1) Motor oil (recommended to use fully synthetic) -- the Inspira manual states 4.3L so you will need to buy 5L of motor oil. There should be some balance left because it is not advisable to overfill beyond the "F" mark on the oil dipstick; optimum is between the two holes on the dipstick. It might be wise to observe the foreman doing the job or else just check that the motor oil is now "light golden" which is what fresh motor oil should look like.
2) Oil filter
3) Gasket
4) Drain plug

Expect free labour charges on your first service. Total cost (excluding motor oil) should be approximately RM30-40. Fully synthetic motor oil from Petronas e.g. Synthium 1000 costs approximately RM230 for 5L. You may be offered additional service options such as magnetrap, fuel injector service or petrol treatment (X1R) but these are usually unnecessary during the first service. Take the opportunity to activate the autolock function if you like or fix any problems with your car during this service. When they return the car to you, check that the coolant and brake fluid have been topped up (new Inspiras usually have these fluids at the lower limit mark). Also check that your service booklet has been updated for the first service. You should receive an official receipt with your name, car registration no., chassis and engine numbers with details of the services done. The next service is at 10000km or 6 months and this should be set into your display info by the service centre.

Anything else to add or correct?? I am just speaking from my limited experience.

Hi guys, I tried to fill my spare tyre the other day but realized the tube inlet is on the other side. Too lazy to remove it and turn it around, furthermore other cars were waiting in line. Just want to know what is the swiftest and most convenient way to do it? Remove it first and put in the boot and drive to the pump?

hi , actually my wife was the driver and i'm using Petr0nas 95 / sh3ll 95.(petronas 95 better FC)

city driver or highway(max .110--150km/h) drive also not much difference.

any comment? flex.gif

Added on March 12, 2012, 2:39 pm

normally the meter show 5km/l to 8km/l and seldom can go until 9.5km/l or more.

any idea for this? hmm.gif
*
Was the FC better in the past? From my limited experience (I drive a 2.0 CVT and mileage only 1300++): I usually drive with the display info showing the FC indicator bar when I am on the highway. I found that optimum FC always falls around 2000 rpm and speed of about 100-110 km/h. I step and release the throttle to maintain these figures. Usually the car gives FC of about 12 km/L or 8 L/100 km. I use ESSO RON95.

Added on March 12, 2012, 8:32 pmMy car's chassis no. is sandblasted onto the windscreen -- is this standard practice?

Want to ask two things:

1) when to do tyre rotation? I am still using stock rims. Continental tyres.

2) I just compared my car with my friend's (both 2.0 CVT, mine white, his metallic silver) and realized that all his car's windows are Proton except windscreen (Mitsubishi) whereas my car has Mitsubishi windscreen and all four driver/passenger windows. Rear screen and rear passengers' "triangle" windows are Proton. Why not same? My chassis no. 0075**.

Eiraku's chassis no. 122xx (she said manufactured Dec 2011). Yours is 125xx (manufactured last week). Simple maths... Proton produced only 300 cars from Dec 2011 to March 2012?

Funny... When I sent my car for service, the SA mentioned if want to buy 2.0 CVT cash, he can get for me fresh off the assembly line and change name for 10% off market price! Wow -- that means what? RM80k? Proton staff got special discount?

Okay... I've been noticing a trend lately - utterly not related to this thread though.

I've been noticing that some people have been referring to me as "she" (and calling me cute nicknames like Eri)...  shocking.gif

Guys, please, I'm a fellow male weh. Ignore my cute avatar.

Just had to get out in the open lol, just in case anybody's wondering.

Sorry, my bad.

which KOK talking guy told them its DEC 2011 ??

my record ...

PL1CY4STRCF012535 .. a 2.0 ... 12535 chasis ... manufactured at 9 Sept 2011 ..

122xx is around 5 - 9 Aug 2011 ..

after september stop production d
*
Now it all makes sense. My chassis 075xx must be manufactured somewhere June 2011. Left in the open for too long until can see water marks and stains on some parts of the body. Aiya...nevermind la. Got 8k discount and going to keep car for long time... After tedious washing, polishing and waxing looks presentable already. But no mod yet -- NO MOD, NO MOD... Love my 2.0P!
