Actually based on Skyline's car, i think the way to go is 4-1 and LCP to compensate for the low end loss.

well that would b best....but any 4-1 will still give u more gain in lowend than stock....so.it's still a gain for me.......even without LCP yet.....

Situation A:
You are doing a sprint, you will only use zone A (1k rpm to 3k rpm) once or twice and from 3rd gear on wards you will be using zone B (3k rpm to 6k rpm). So you want a 4-1 because it gains more in that range. Whatever gain in zone A (from a 4-2-1) is near to useless to you, and the gain in zone B from a typical 4-2-1 is lower than that from a typical 4-1. So a 4-1 is better for sprint.

Situation B:
You drive the car in town with traffic and you shift at 4k rpm max. You will need a 4-2-1 because you will be using the low to mid range most. The lost in zone A from a typical 4-1 will make your car more lethargic to drive at low speed in high gear ratio.


Situation C:
You are cruising on highway in 5th gear at 110km/h or slightly higher, and occasionally speed up to 140km/h to overtake some slow cars. You will be using zone B most of the time. So a typical 4-1 will be more suitable for you.


Situation D:
TOP SPEED? From the graphs, it has to be a 4-1 but since aerodynamic property of the entire car is more important at that speed, you won't experience see much difference between the two. One may find the need to use 4th ratio instead of 5th when a 4-2-1 is used, and it's easier in 5th with a 4-1.


So, it's all about the power band! Nothing to do with 4-2-1 or 4-1. It's also about how you use the power band, nothing to do with 4-2-1 or 4-1. CLEAR?

Felali makan Jack not happy liao with his 4-1, we wants to makan even at low range rpm. for us might be enough but roti canai king Jack wants power in all rpm range. I think twin scroll charger is the only solution.

On a serious note, based on current extractor design might not mean current low end (say Jack's 4-1) might give better low end performance compared to stock. The graphs shown are based on theory.

Expect free labour charges on your first service.  Total cost (excluding motor oil) should be approximately RM30-40.  Fully synthetic motor oil from Petronas e.g. Synthium 1000 costs approximately RM230 for 5L.  You may be offered additional service options such as magnetrap, fuel injector service or petrol treatment (X1R) but these are usually unnecessary during the first service.  Take the opportunity to activate the autolock function if you like or fix any problems with your car during this service.  When they return the car to you, check that the coolant and brake fluid have been topped up (new Inspiras usually have these fluids at the lower limit mark).  Also check that your service booklet has been updated for the first service.  You should receive an official receipt with your name, car registration no., chassis and engine numbers with details of the services done.  The next service is at 10000km or 6 months and this should be set into your display info by the service centre. 

Anything else to add or correct??  I am just speaking from my limited experience.

Reason is normal drive we not much chance rev over 4k rpm. But when you need sudden power to push up speed, only gain 4-1 benefit.

Is there any shop which could properly dyno our CVT 2.0.... last known was they could not properly dyno XC's car... any update ?

Wish to do before go to fix the 4-2-1...

CVT very hard to accurately dyno, since it is variable.

correct lor...below 3k rpm means u cruising and not tiong ppl or smoke ppl...no need so much power....BUT...when u wanna SMOKE ppl....atuomatically and miraculously the RPM is ABOVE 4k jor...so....

4-1 is definitely for me..... thumbup.gif

CVT is hard bcuz of the variable ratio.......BUT...i heard that there may be a CVT RATIO CONTROLLER soon in the market where it tricks the TCU to keep the gear at a certain ratio for every gear.......if it's true and it works....then u may actually be able to have a much much more accurate DYNO hmm.gif

I scared he end up like Nzh only run far far away.

Btw, 4- 1 I'm only afraid the extractor not done properly and end up the low range is worse compared to stock.
