My viva already 9 years old , only recent month got smelly smell when I switch on, after run for 10 minutes on the highway then no more.

By the way, I never service my air- con until now. Only change belt , laugh.gif
*
I think that my own fault on creating the smell - i didnt fully close my side windows and parked at Genting for a week... and the smells started from that period...

washed cushion, the smell reduced but still persist, that's why i m thinking if it is the aircond having mold and create the odour cry.gif cry.gif

Viva good on FC, especially manual, can easily beat Axia - I own both model so i can tell you the FC

Maintenance - Viva parts is everywhere, so you have no worries in next 5 to 8yrs, and, cheap also comparing Axia (i duno why, maybe need some expert to tell you the reasons behind)

Noise - Viva noise is higher than Axia, you will feel "milo tin" level of noise if you drive in highway over 90kmph

Overall - Viva is a good choice for daily drive to work, good FC, low maintenance, not so oudated look, easy find parking

Hi guys, I want to ask if anyone face this same problem

You know the timing belt "eeeeeekk" sound?

Well, lately my car produce that exact sound but ONLY when I turn on the aircond + hit acceleration pedal.

So it goes like this:
Aircond off + idle = no sound
Aircond off + hit pedal = no sound
Aircond on + idle = no sound
Aircond on + hit pedal = got "eeek" sound

Sorry if a bit confusing, not sure the best way to put it  sweat.gif

That's aircond belt sound, I having the same issue last 2 month, just go to workshop and ask them help to tighten back the aircond belt will do

no need to change the belt is it, just tighten? afraid will get conned by the mechanic haha

anyway thanks for the response  smile.gif

My case is just tighten up the belt, and the uncle didn't charge me biggrin.gif coz i been his long term customer for more than 10yrs since his day 001 opening

FYI my car is around 130k mileage then only got such weird sound, so i hope it is the same case like me, else it could be worst \ or getting chop by workshop mostly.

Hi, anyone knows the size of viva speakers?

And my engine start has a very high pitch noise. it has 140k mileage now. Could the battery or timing belt caused the noise? It's very very loud.
*
Is the noise started when engine start, aircond on and came out during the 1st move? and it is disappeared after few km of driving? If yes then it should be the aircond belt, refer to my previous post on top, just go to workshop and tighten it back...

btw, i found this issue is common for those hv more than 120k mileage.... sweat.gif

Hi all, recently my 9 years old 1.0 perodua viva having rpm fluctuate, or jerking when i press brake metal to slow down.. Or sometimes waiting at traffic light, Rpm ll fluctuate below, then sometimes also engine mati..anyone face this problem? Went to workshop clean throttle body feels like not helping, changed new wiring at engine sensor.. Jerking still happened.
Any sifu here can advise? Or any good workshop at kl or selangor knows how to handle viva problem?
*
I am having similar problem before, went for service in KL area for at least 3 times, did almost same steps like what you mentioned

End up send back to my beloved uncle workshop in Seremban, he use 15min for inspect then told me that it is just a small cable near engine that for censor was broken, hence when it was disconnected the car will jerk due to the board doesn't get correct data. The problem come on and off due to the vibration of the engine causes the putus area connect and disconnect.

Cut then pasang balik issue solve, RM15, maybe you can look into this, if not mistaken it is in yellow color cable.

Anyone knows reputable workshop knows about car wiring? Went to my car workshop and being told that they don't really do wiring for car.. So they can't troubleshoot the current jerking problem
*
No idea in Klang Valley, perhaps you can try luck on those old workshop, some of them still doing wiring checking.

The job takes long time and earn penny, hence most of the new workshop doesn't want to do it, only old uncle workshop will still do it for you
