Well, honestly speaking, Ebay is hardly no more than 15% of our revenue generator. 65% revenue comes from our websites which we rank. However we tend to push our products out through as many channels as possible including various ebay accounts from different countries, Amazon accounts of different countries and then selling on lelong also and many other channels. But at the end, our various websites are much more profitable and better than any other channel. smile.gif

Ok. Guess you just use a few accounts for the items to get better chance of selling.

When I just want to give up in eBay accidentally found this thread tongue.gif

I'd tried eBay for a year after I graduated until start working in government health sector just for fun and knowledges. From my experiences, I knew eBay is a good choice for income but for me the time is my limitation. Had been going to eBay-er gathering and quite motivating by them. Some of them just quite their job and doing full time eBay and their income reached 5 figures already.

I'm from health stream so I don't have much knowledges for business. Does eCommerce means you sell your goods from your online stores?

It can't. I have been using them for long enough. We disable the routing table so VM won't go out without VPN of that country. For every account we have different VM with their country specific VPN. We never  mix them around to avoid cookie caching and stuff.

From here, I can tell you are really serious about your ebay ecommerce bizness. From the way you explains it, this is no BS stuff. The depths and the details you have is inspiring.

I am running my own webstore as well. Am learning along the way. Your advises here are indeed, very valueable.

Thank you and all the best in your venture.

Added on March 19, 2012, 4:29 pmDear,

Good question. Ecommerce business can start with small capital if you want. Most important thing for you to understand is identifying a niche through research and then buy some little stock direct from china or local KL based wholesale market. See this link to understand on how to identify a niche http://www.extremecommerce.org/topic-1.html

You can allocate a little budget of RM1500 to RM2000 to buy your initial stock and then you need to understand your selling strategies. What I did was big gamble because I wanted to grow things overnight instead of waiting for organic growth which is risky and I won't recommend you to do the way I did. You can always grow the business organically and slowly with lower risk smile.gif

Thanks
Sunny

Added on March 21, 2012, 7:21 pmSomeone just asked me he interested in selling clothing stuff and would like me to help on how to find the suppliers.

I am posting my reply here because I have got similar questions before so I believe it is a good idea if I can post it here if it can help others also.

======================================

Hi dear,

Honestly speaking, I wouldn't go for clothing niche if I am you. Unless you identify a micro niche withing clothing. For example something like clothing of a particular material or maternity clothing etc. If I am not mistaken maternity clothing also is a major niche, too many suppliers, too many products, so I might go more micro niche in it for example, maternity clothing for chinese only or maternity clothing made of soft cotton or made of certain thing. I don't know but that's how we locate a micro niche, we don't go into major niches because I operate many ecommerce sites and this is the best way to make good money when you identify micro niches instead of going into main stream niches.

In terms of suppliers, don't worry. Too many suppliers from china. You can see alibaba and tons of suppliers are there already. The main thing you have to learn is how to sell and where to sell and how to expand and where to expand. As long as you understand and learn the art of selling and expansion you will make a lot of money.

It's always easy to source the product but selling is the art that you must have a command on. I hope this helps.

Please do let me know if you need any further help.

Thanks
Sunny

My dear, I reach my office 2pm daily and leave at 6pm. I have a big team sitting in Malaysia, Philippines and India and my managers run the whole business and report direct to me.

If I have to run everything myself then this would be all impossible to manage smile.gif

My whole idea was to effectively utilize globalization while making money out of rich countries. And here is he key to learn on how to effectively structure your organization and how to utilize cheaper worldwide resources. All my staff is on full time payroll + some contractors smile.gif

From above you only manage to earn 30~35k income, with capital of a million invested, reward to invested capital ratio that can considerably bad business, 1million divided by 32.5k income (average) = 30months to earn back your invested capital, note that you're already wasted 1.5years time for experiment.. so this would be a total of 4years time to get back your 1million initially, yet only to start positive figure, no good. so now you're still in deficit side, good luck in longer term.

Yes absolutely bad and very disappointing smile.gif
I mentioned already how bad it is and I am upset too.
Specially rm600-700k being burned in all experiments and trying to get various things up and running before I finally realized that ecommerce is best smile.gif

Ahh I wish I would have started ecommerce from day 1 and that is the reason for sharing my experience with everyone that you don't waste money in trying different things but stick to one channel.

Also I am putting more and more capital to grow this business to much bigger scale so yes recovery at my scale is far. That is the reason I recommend everyone to focus, start small and learn from my experience smile.gif

Your observation is indeed thorough. I like it, you know numbers well enough smile.gif

Hi sunny,

I wonder how you normally source for supplier. Any guide? I knoe can find from alibaba for that matter but how to verify them, negotiate and deal with them? Do you fly to meet personally or deal over the phone or email?

I cant read chinese and dn have much capital to stock goods. I think this is a major problem for me.
