Current ice in myvi, HU (RCA x1), 2-ways 4" speaker, amp+woofer.
Plan to upgrade, HU (RCA x2 n above), add another amp for power the 2-ways 4" speaker.
Question is, will it make different with my current one, or just minor diff like louder abit for the speaker coz power by amp, my speaker easy to power, just need 25rms gaodin...tq tongue.gif

you need to understand how amp/speaker works as your current goal/objective is very flawed.

as for this post's question: no.
it just wont go louder than what your HU can provide towards the speaker. (or what your speakers are capable of anyways)

having amp wont protect your speaker being "harmed" when you go loud either, in fact, having an amp has a much higher chance to fry your speakers as you have greater capabilities to go louder.

I think yours currently is stock HU, right?

Then just change HU first lor, you should notice a lot of improvement already.

Adding amp for the 4" ah, not sure if it is a wise investment.

Just try change the HU first lah, you should enjoy a better improvement already.

HU suggestion : P80 RSII. laugh.gif

1 pair RCA output is good enough... there is no limit to how many amps you can install with one 1 pair RCA output... here is what you do...

1. get a pre-amp stage, i.e. line driver, e-xover, EQ, processors.
then basically you will have at least 2 pair RCA outputs...

2. get an amp that has RCA line outputs.

3. get an amp with "hi-input"/line input. it can be a 4ch amp, 6ch amp...

double coil or single coil doesnt make any difference on the power/input power/etc...

what you get with double coil is basically just more wiring options. with this wiring options, you could save your money on the amp selections.

i.e. buy a 300w rms amp @ 4ohm, 600w rms @ 2ohm to drive 2 units of 300wrms @ 4ohm single coil subwoofer. more cheaper

buy a 600w rms @ 4ohm, 1200w rms @ 2ohm amp to drive 2 unis of 300w rms @ 4ohm double coil sub. more expensive.

but on both setup, each subs needs only 300w rms, performs only like a 300w rms subs. pay more, same results.

yes you could wire the second setup to 1ohm. but amps that performs 1ohm stable operations is going to cost more.

im a myvi ICE-er, n after much consideration, ive decided 2 finally go ahead 2 mod my door panels 2 fit a proper 6.6 component set. my old 4" setup juz cant deliver the ummmpphh that i want..

was quoted 300 4 the door mod, (400 if i want the holder 2 be aluminium) + stellar component set. im not really familiar wit this brand, but was assured it was gud entry level stuff n i did some research bout it, turned out 2 be a local brand.. but the physical quality looks ok, n plus the installer said he used that brand b4 4 competition b4.. the component hes giving me 900..

u guys think its a gud deal??

Q1 personally i dont think its worth it

Q2 may or may not have big difference, this depends on how bad your speakers were

Q3 door panels typically 6.5"

Seems like u r more into SQ now. 117 is a gud choice as it has quite powerful pre-output-4v. Haha...let the new 4 chnl handle da tweeter & midbass lo if u r playing active system. remain da 2 chnl to power ur sub. Juz my little opinion..tq

Rms and ohm load of sub and monoblock should be compatible. For example, 2ohm double voice coil sub with 250w rms can be wired to 4ohm load. So it could be matched with any monoblock which can put out at least 250w rms @ 4 ohm.
