QUOTE(Rawred @ Jun 8 2012, 11:18 AM)
Hi people. I am very new at this so please pardon me being naive and immature about this.

1. So i tried to open an ASN1M account in CIMB, the said no quota. And when I asked about other non-bumi products the agent told me they dont offer other products but when i called up PNB they said the PNB should offer other products such as ASN3 and ASG. So can I buy these other products from CIMB or Maybank or other agents??

2. I didn find much info here on ASG (i admit i din search throughly), if I were to buy in on ASG, what should i learn??

(I have no finance background, so i m a complete noob with most terms used)

3. Anyone has any recommended read for starters like me? So that I could understand better what is at risk and how earning are done??
*
Information on their products are here http://www.asnb.com.my/english/index.htm

You should be able to buy ASN3 and ASG from the agents, just that ASN3 and ASG are variable price products, so the price can go up or down...

let say i wanna open ASB account, i would like to invest 50k from my saving account, just put lamsam 50k or deposit it every month (let say 10k per month) any different?
*
50k lumpsum will give you more return as the dividend is calculated on average minimum monthly balance.

Guys, I've just registered my ASB account to Maybank2U and it shows pending. How long will it be processed?
*
Normally less than 24 hours, but since its public holidays, I guess it will take much longer.

Hi Sifus,

May I know if we should declare ASW and ASM in income tax?? Is it taxable?
*
It is not taxable, the statement that you will/have received would state it, see the bottom of your statement, starting with "Pengecualian Cukai..."

QUOTE(AMINT @ Mar 18 2013, 07:48 PM)
Guys, just wanna ask one thing. I dont understand. I put all that i have in asb into as1m. And i didnt get any dividend (ya lor, put one day how can get dividend). But i only put rm16k in asn, how come suddenly became rm18.5k? Kalau tahu i did the other way around. I put everything in as1m coz i thought harga tetap is more safe than harga berubah? As1m dividend also was higher than asn. Anybody care to explain?
*
You have read it wrongly, i believe, ASN is express in units, not RM. 1 unit in ASN is not the same with RM1, the prices change, so you have to check the price before and after the dividend to get the correct RM worth.

QUOTE(masami @ May 26 2013, 06:54 PM)
for easy calculation sake

if pnb declares asb dividend of 7.5 and 1.25 bonus for 10 years straight and u hv 200k untouched. u will get 15k plus 250 for bonus for the first year.

for second year onward u will get more from the compounding effect i.e your devidend will be calculated on 215250.

and u will get the additional bonus each year by 250 + 250+250 till the 10 th year. after which u will get the full declared div i.e if pnb declares 7.5 div and 1.5 bonus. u can now combine these two 7.5 + 1.5 = 9

hope this helps
*
This calculation is simplified, but its close enough. Of course its clearly mention "for easy calculation sake".

If you want details,
Assumption

On 30 December 2011, you open an ASB account and put in 200k.

ASB declare 7.5 sen per unit dividend and 1.25 sen per unit dividend for its financial year ended 31 December 2012.

Your dividend would be.

Baki minima bulanan
Jan 2012 -RM200k
Feb 2012 -RM200k
.
.
Dec 2012 -RM200k
Total - RM2,400k

The above divide by 12 = RM200k
times 7.5 sen = RM15,000

Don't believe, read as someone cut and paste below.

Bonus:

Baki minima bulanan
Jan 2003 -RM 0
Feb 2003 - RM 0
.
.
.
Dec 2011 - RM 0
Jan 2012 -RM200k
Feb 2012 -RM200k
.
.
Dec 2012 -RM200k
Total - RM2,400k

The above divide by 120 = RM20k

Sources not reliable enough?
http://www.asnb.com.my/news/asb_pendapatan2012.htm

So, yes masami your estimation is correct.

I do believe banks would need to have some proof of income for them to grant a loan. So, if you have it maybe.
