Every year like this. People tend to overspend on raya celebration & ASB always become "backup money"  shakehead.gif  biggrin.gif

Well, I also think ASB as backup money+investment tongue.gif

Sorry guys but i'm totally a newbie here. for all ASNB products I can just walk-in to post office and buy it? Or there is a quota depending on your race? Kinda confuse here...searched around the web but doesn't seem have a beginner guide for me except here....
*
You can just walk-in to the post office, or other ASNB agents; Maybank, RHB, and CIMB. And yes, there are quota depending on whether you're a bumi or non-bumi. Check ASNB website for more info.

Just to add: "And yes, I’m a bumi and ASB only limited for bumi people in Malaysia."

Apparently, if you married a bumiputra, and convert to Islam, you are entitled to ASB too

Right, edit my post. Thanks Lucifah! laugh.gif

Me since age 22 start saving. Before that, waste alot money, never try to save. Now I know the importants of saving money when I start working. Makan gaji alone wont make us rich in this pitiful country.

And so, saving my money into my tabung haji and also invest in asb

Ai yo, really good to be a muslim...

Very envy...  blush.gif
*
Tabung Haji earned a lot from people that went for Hajj(especially Hajj Season), that is why the dividend is high.

And th last time I've checked, to open a TH account, you need to be a muslim BUT before raya I went to Tabung Haji in JB, I saw alot of Chinese and Indian people there. Not sure if TH policy change or the chinese/indian people is already a muslim.

Sorry for the out of topic laugh.gif

this is wrong

they have investment in plantations and properties

in fact, for the haji thing, they are losing as they subsidize the costs

any muslim can open an account. chinese. indian. as long as he is malaysian.
*
Thank you for correcting it.

But here says you need to be a muslim so you can open TH account

Still lower than ASB return.
Is there any max limit for TH
*
You should understand... TH will give dividend MONTHLY. ASB is YEARLY. Meaning that you'll get dividend every month from TH.

TH is for saving your money
ASB or any ASNB product is investing with your money.

And no, I don't know the max limit to save your money inside TH. It didn't mention in the official website either. So I guess there is no max in TH.

no.

and if can, WHY?

ASB is giving out 8%+ dividend while ASW2020 is giving around 6%+ dividend...  hmm.gif
*
I thought can. If throw all the money from ASB to ASW2020 to get the ASW2020 dividend and throw it back to ASB to get ASB dividend laugh.gif

yup.. that is the reason why i'm asking instead of the trouble go to bank or post office where they "tak layan", why not take around 5k or more and try it at PNB office?
*
If I were you, I go to other bank.

Or

You could go to Pos Office to register. Heard a lot of people successfully open their account there. rolleyes.gif

My case is different.. I'm Indian convert to muslim. iIve made call to PNB office asking them about the possibilities to open ASB in post office or bank. According to their helpdesk, it is easier for me to straight come to HQ as they afraid that post office or bank don't know the procedure.

By the way, I've use post office service to top up and update my wife's ASB book without any problem. They never asked or question me about only the person in the book can update the passbook.
*
Then go to their HQ.

But it shouldn't be a problem if you go to the Post Office.

I've tried to open my ASB account in the nearest branch for like 5-6 times but failed. Then I went to another branch that is far from my place and finally open my ASB account. Some bank worker are lazy. nod.gif

Hi Guys,

Actually which one of the account types return the most?

if I was not mistaken ASN returned 11%++ last year and ASB only 8.95%.

does that mean I should invest more in ASN?

SOS:

ASN declared a dividend of 6.3% per unit last year...however, ASN is a variable price...the 11.++% is based on total return...that mean, there is a price increased of around 5% for ASN...you should see the 2010 total return...18.++% whoa......
*
How about year before 2010? What's the return? >10%?
