Every year like this. People tend to overspend on raya celebration & ASB always become "backup money"   

Sorry guys but i'm totally a newbie here. for all ASNB products I can just walk-in to post office and buy it? Or there is a quota depending on your race? Kinda confuse here...searched around the web but doesn't seem have a beginner guide for me except here....

Apparently, if you married a bumiputra, and convert to Islam, you are entitled to ASB too

Parents nowadays can consider 'senang' d. My kids now alone od have 4k in 'TingTing' account. Hope they remember what parent had done to them

in fact, for the haji thing, they are losing as they subsidize the costs

any muslim can open an account. chinese. indian. as long as he is malaysian.

ASB is giving out 8%+ dividend while ASW2020 is giving around 6%+ dividend... 

yup.. that is the reason why i'm asking instead of the trouble go to bank or post office where they "tak layan", why not take around 5k or more and try it at PNB office?

My case is different.. I'm Indian convert to muslim. iIve made call to PNB office asking them about the possibilities to open ASB in post office or bank. According to their helpdesk, it is easier for me to straight come to HQ as they afraid that post office or bank don't know the procedure.

By the way, I've use post office service to top up and update my wife's ASB book without any problem. They never asked or question me about only the person in the book can update the passbook.

if I was not mistaken ASN returned 11%++ last year and ASB only 8.95%.

does that mean I should invest more in ASN?

ASN declared a dividend of 6.3% per unit last year...however, ASN is a variable price...the 11.++% is based on total return...that mean, there is a price increased of around 5% for ASN...you should see the 2010 total return...18.++% whoa......

2009 - 43.41%..
