- sorry... forgot. wat size ur tank? simple rules, if a carpet plant growing tall, it simply means they try reaching ur lights. wattage also useless if penetration isnt good enough to reach the bottom. we humans can see the lights till bottom but plants, they need to reach it, not just see it. use a correct lightings.

-lights are quite a factor for a growth pattern of plants. do you know even a rotala can creep instead growing tall? same do other stem plants as well? they wont creep like HC or glosso fo course, but they'll growth horisontally and will have few many more along the horizontal ones. bit hard to explain if you still not understand... if got chance i'll take photo from my tank.

- plus, one day doesnt shows anything. wait for a week at least. monitor their behaviour along the time. they didnt die doesnt mean they're already happy. lot of ways t o check fish behavior on their particular species. do some homework from google. try throw some yamato or RCS at least in there and see hwo many survived in a week. then only you'll know exact result of your water stability.

- just buy aquarium lights la... PLL or LED or MH or T5.... as long not those table lamp or those included in 'commercial nano tank set RM100" type of promotion.
- dun scared one... just boom lights! hahaha... my tank got 250+Watts over it... just booM~ as long u get the balance right, ur plant grows like crazy! if something goes wrong, algae pulak comes like crazy. LOL~ but hey, in this hobby, u cant runaway from algae anyway. there's no tank without algae.
- for your size of tank, erm.. gimme the size in feet" la easier. i dun use WPG or whatever thsoe formula one. simply hantam and find balance myself. different tank have different plants, depth and requirements. one tank might not be the same suits another. so no spesific advise can give you on this unless i come to your hosue and see your whole tank and lightings and everything (including water temp, dosing schedule etc), then only can advise u...

i wonder the soil from old tank, how to transfer it out? do i need to make it dry 1st? or directly can use and put in the base of new tank? then cover with 1 layer of new soil?

which type of aqua soil? the bottom layer or the top layer? i wonder who much is 1kg~!

bombed my tank with zentel yesterday afternoon... today morning i see almost all hydra died/gone adi... fish is doing fine, oto's fries still swimming up n down my tank... assassin snail still burrowed near my driftwood....

so far so good... gonna bomb 2nd time today afternoon with same amount of zentel... wish me luck

the right side pic, is the tank recently. after finishing cleaning the hair algae at the stone plus some fish added.hehehe

those green algae on the stone make the scene mystery, unfortunately it is an algae.
