i think she put some bacter ball. then, began cycling. nice but then have to take out the water and start for planting. 2x work doh.gif
or.. maybe she just wanna clear out the cloudy water first. hehe.. never thought of this method too wink.gif
i just figured out.. the water inlet. why put it on the upper side? not shallow one? blink.gif water cycling carries a lot of debris. this would trapped the debris on the upper side. just my 2 cent. huhu

my new pico tank. going to add for mini fissiden, hc and nano moss + hydrocotyle sp. australis as the foregroud plant
well.. the weight already looks unbalanced between left and right side.have a lot space.. i think im gonna made this for iaplc 2013 doh.gif
might be ranking no. 1k laugh.gif

oh. huge amout of ammonia? yeah. i figured it out too. last year, i brought ADA africana. and what i have is, 4.0 mg1 on my first day after done scaping. maybe not all ADA soil contain the same what i had back then.. doh.gif

QUOTE(deric79k @ May 12 2012, 01:07 AM)
if ur light , co2, temp is right, very fast think less than a month, but also need see how much of the moss u tie
*
my moss growing well without co2. i just keep pushing them with potassium. at the first stage of setup, im covering the driftwood with a mesh contain small granule of ADA soil. then tie moss. the other technique im prefer with, soaking driftwood with blended ADA soil in water for several weeks. then, tie moss as usual. just for moss 'nutrien'.. so i can continue my laziness again to put fertilizer. hahaha ok. takes 2 months.. sweat.gif

QUOTE(LuQEE @ May 12 2012, 02:19 AM)
what type of filter suitable for pico tank? just curious
*
im prefer HOB filter. less electrical usage. but by using HOB, its a lil bit hard to maintain tank temp. if i switch off the aircond.. wow. 30 celcius even at night sweat.gif

pico tank actually same as other tanks. the different is, the amount of water that can be fill in. you can count them as pico by looking their actual size. mostly are palm sized. tank name? hm.. does it make sense for other style of planting? can check for terrarium too
yeah. that is wabi kusa. mixed plant which is attached in 1 territorial 'ball' like-substrate.

nod.gif

bro disaiko, those wabi kusa.. for selling? oh.. can you list me what plant can be use for wabi kusa? im not into this hobby yet. seems nice than terrarium. so, might try. quote me a plant suitable for bonsai theme

yeah. 1 of those 'sealed pict' sweat.gif if you reallt wanna see the first day of this tank, you can check it on my previous tank on earlier page of this thread smile.gif damn more super ugly. how i got that? there is no secret after all. just rely on fish waste, uneaten food. and top of that, ADA 5 element as per required my my tank size. kurangak, did you still remember about yuzu & khaki fruit juice. well.. this is one of them. lol. ok. still experimenting..
and btw, my damn ugly filter is the key. wanna see this ugly duck? LOL

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

yeah. but not really like that. im keeping 3 adult indian mini puffer. so, i put extra care too. don't wanna see their puff. or.. they will ruin all their tank mate. just take extra care for fauna. wink.gif

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

yeah. prefer for high grade and sensitive fish and invertebrate. im prefer to use them on marine tank.
phostate? oh..im dosing it too. try seachem flourish phosphorus. much cheaper i'd say? hmm.gif but don't add more or you'll face algae bloom. just from my experienced only. huhu..

--------------------------------------------------------------------

i think i wanna post a lot of photos from my previous ugly tank. that one was taken on the night. and, what about when at the morning?

boss? the khaki&yuzu juice u buy from where? wan to experiment together with u tongue.gif
wah...mini puffer need brackish water rite? is it hard to rear?
which BW product boss?
*
khaki & yuzu? khaki can be obtain on cameron highland. while fro yuzu, i get it from my friends who works at japan. good for spa too blush.gif

not all mini puffer are brackish water inhabitant. if we said MINI puffer. yeah a lot of this species requires brackish water. the one im keep in all tanks which is known as INDIAN DWARF MINI PUFFER, arent' brackish type. only.. the big puffer i had in my tank it is.. er.. not brackish water anymore. but salt water laugh.gif

thanks to usermode back then at 2009 thread. he mention about a-weird-bengkok-fin fish.and since then, i start to do some further research on how to keep this tank in my community tank. now 2012. so i can say, several mini puffer can be force to stay in community tank without killing other fish and invertebrate by using separeted method.

just separated them after their mommy give them birth. try it. you can put a shrimp together with them. but not shrimp fries. and top above that. this force method is suitable if you want to keep your mini puffer from nipping other fish tail.

not so hard to keep them. unless don't super force them to puff. or you'll regret to keep them in community tank icon_idea.gif

just my 2 cent based from my experienced smile.gif

that was one of the technique applied for algae-look-alike. not all mini fissiden can be used for this reason. as long as your tank already been dosed with liquid fertilizer. i prefer to put potassium first for the first till 3rd weeks after grind them all. you can check previous top 50 iaplc winners. some of them applied this technique. i think 2009.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

so. got bunch of them wink.gif don't mention riccia. this crap are fast growing plant even i don't put fertilizer. you can check my previos low tech tank. need to trim every 2 weeks at least. mine got riccia floating continent. LOL

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

that one of the point. sounds like brown algae. already clear out the debris? excess nitrates. what about light. should be high enough depend on your tank spec.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

low on nutrien light, fertilizer, co2..might be nutrient inside soil already suck out.. had any sucker plant inside that tank?? glosso are matched with small sized substrate.. or.. co2 level doh.gif
