yup correct i didnt sell it,but do have a plastic of it to throw away,if u want u can take it all but hv to come to gallery at putrajaya
free stuffs!! i want to go boss, but putrajaya is abit too far from my place. how bout i buy some stuffs from u, n u mail the HM with it?.... boleh la bos...
u can try tesco or carefour, go to stationary section.. find eva foam (or something like that, i forget the name d) got many color.. and price is RM5.90, i use 2 piece for a 2ft tank
to be honest, i didnt know that this hobby is very expensive type of hobby i found out it is expensive when surveying the price for the soil and co2 set and realized it was already too late when i bought my co2 set..but cant turn back..must continue forward with this hobby lol
^this is all NA boss fault..he made me kene posion with it...but it was worth it~ to all the newbies like me who have/almost lost hopes in this hobby because to the expensive price tag, be patient and think other alternative ways to solve the budget problems because in the end, it is worth it with the added *syiok sendiri* mood
+1, to see that glosso finally trails after being replanted numerous times, to finally eradicate green water after numerous tries, to see my fish swims ?happily? in my tank, i found it rather, soothing...cheewah!
try adding a few drops of yuzu and khaki juice fruit. you'd be amazed that this same as u add a clear super in your tank. no greenish water not recommended for brakish water.
yuzu = lemon rite? how to dose? any article i can read ka boss? wanna try dis method but i want to do some reading 1st...for better understanding...

after some google-ing n reading.. it has something to do with ascorbic acid, lowering the pH level abit (algae thrive in neutral water), redox reaction with Ca2+ n Mg2+ ions blablabla...
wah.. just few weeks absent already got new version of this thread. ho ho ho ho... first of all, congrats people!!!
secondly, since a new thread already... im taking the opportunity to post up my current "not yet finished" tank latest progress photo. it's been 10th week at the moment. i'll need about 3-4 weeks more to have full-scape view plus some minor scaping have been done. will post up photo when the tank is ready for final photo. anyway, mind my cheap quality camera ya. HD and better version only when the tank is ready

hah. no la.. this is not for IAPLC. if it's for IAPLC, it wont be published here and u wont' see it just now. Just another of my playground... plus, i am not interested with IAPLC or any competition actually (because i know i still sux and wont get in par with all those super-god). i just enjoy the hobby as it is.
for more details, you can follow my journal in my FB (sorry.. i dont open journal in MAC or anywhere.. lazy).
not really planted aquarium related here but since i cant find any suitable forums to ask so have to ask u guys, since u guys are mostly pro on this i blif
how do i wash the gravel in my aquarium? i haven't wash my gravel since my first wash when i bought them. only perform water changes
i now noticed there's a layer of yellow forming on the gravel although i have a filter
now some planted aquarium question. i feel like converting my current normal setup into planted aquarium. my tank size is 15" x 8" . enough for planted aquarium? any other accessories i need : eg ; filter , other than those stated in first post? roughly need how much for a beginner set up?
need some recommendations for beginner
you can prolly vacuum the gravel using something like this:-

you can put some chendol species. utricularia sp.... i forgot its name but it really looks like lilaeoosis plant. but be careful. even it eat bacteria colony, its a carnivorous plant. might accidentally catch your srimplet
you can refer this method by referring to any utricularia type. try reading this info. might save a lot of budget..
bos...i ve read the article uve given, n using my basic understanding of microbiology, chemistry n advance biology, there is no part in that article talks about BGA... ( it talks mainly about composition of urticularias trap liquid, how it differs under different condition n microorganism diversity in the plant's trap...) except for one part where it talks about xylitol (exist at trap surface) , where it has the property to inhibit bacteria's colony to produce biofilm (n from my understanding, BGA is cyanobacteria, n the colony produce biofilm as protection against element) ... prolly u gave me the wrong article?
oh my! thanks for noticing me back yeah. wrong info. well im trying to find back the right link on my bookmark. unorganized or you can read one of my favourite link..unless you love to read em
need help, seems like its starting to be a really really hot season and im struggling to lower down my tank desperately and this fight has been rage for a week. its now between 28-29.8 *C and im losing hope~ i have done all the actions below but still no good result;
1)clean my exisiting 2DIY fan, maybe the dust is the problem but no effect 2)putting 2 piece of ice in 15-30 minutes interval...temp did no budge... (using RO water for ice, hoping the temp flactuation wont stress or kills the bacteria, fishes and shrimps) 3)cutting down ligthing time, maybe the ligthing is the cause, but now (9.45pm) its 29.5 *C and increasing the 0.05 *C per 30 minutes... 4)put 2 tower fan infront of my tank and on at full blast at them during night and hopefully improve ventilation in removing hot air that surrounded my tank 5)open window day and night but not working since my room is the middle, so no sunlight and wind rarely comes to enter my room 6)installing 2 filter, one using spray bar, hopefully the height will lower the water temp before coming back into the tank and another using like those lily type effect, fast flow to regulate water efficiently 7) did several water change, but since the house tank water is a bit warm, the temp in tank rose more quickly..
any other suggestions? plz, "no chiller idea" or " shout for me to buy a chiller" or "poison me with a chiller solution tactic" at the moment ok? stuff that i still havent tried but will proceed if i cant do anything else.. :
1) gonna install another 4 new set of DIY PC fans(a total 6 fan in 1.ft tank lol)..but need to buy additional fans, adapters already got 2) using a frozen bottle and let it float in my tank..so it will last longer and fish wont get shock since they melt slower instead of using direct cold water for WC purpose (but temp flactuation is still a concern to me) 3) submerge half my cannister filter in a tray filled with ice...new output water will be chill slightly in theory but bacteria may die.. 4) going to put full blast of air pump with airstone, if they shows sign of decreasing the temp, will add another air pump+ air stone too (theory i learnt: warm water=less o2, more o2=cooler water)
any more ideas?
thanx _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ btw, how much is lava rock huh? per kilo? and at which lfs?
install an AC in your room...or set up a ventilation fan at your window so that cold air can go in n hot air can go out....or...since u love DIYing, why dont u make this
